Well, it is day two of our bathroom remodel, and things are going well enough.  We will have a functioning toilet shortly, which is a good thing.  It's going to be spongebaths tomorrow, as a functioning toilet is our priority.  It all started with the toilet;  it had gotten wobbly since we bought the place, and we had the wax ring replaced only to ( Read more... )

It's gotta be reassuring to know you're no longer in danger of having a rotten floor collapse under you.

And now you've got me trying to recall the lyrics to the Brothers-in-Law song "The Handyman's Lament" (which is about a bathroom remodel) ... knew 'em by heart when I was a kid but may have to play the precious cassette for a refresher.

Oh, no - - lord no! *g* My carpentry skills are limited to putting shelves together, and plumbing is not a skill at all! I'd much rather pay someone who has done this before to do the work. The worst thing for us is the disruption in our routine; we are homebodies, and creatures of habit, and having strangers tromping and sawing and drilling is a bit jarring for both of us! But tomorrow we can shower (carefully, as the surround is not in yet) and the toilet is working, and you can't do much better than that halfway through remodeling! :)
