It's really sad how many people just listen to their preacher for advice on politics. I was, unfortunately, one of those people about 3 years ago. I made a mistake that I regret deeply. The fact that so many people in this country equate disagreement with treason is unamerican. The fact that so many people in this country feel that we must agree with the Commander in Chief because he is the iconic embodiment of our country is disgusting.

In one of the 2004 presidential debates, the moderator asked the candidates what they felt was the greatest threat (I forget if it was to the United States or the entire human race). Answering first, Kerry cited nuclear proliferation. Bush said that he agreed, the greatest current threat was weapons of mass destruction in the hands of terrorists.

He honestly didn't know the difference between his answer and Kerry's.

The embarrassed moderator then had to explain to the most powerful man in the world the difference between "nuclear proliferation" and "weapons of mass destruction in the hands of terrorists." While the two sound synonymous, they aren't, and both were in the popular lexicon in 2004. I'd hope that someone WITH ACCESS TO nuclear weapons would know the difference, but apparently either Bush didn't, or tried to duck the prospect of an actual debate with Kerry by feigning agreement, which he could then cite as a difference of opinion after the fact. To me, that ignorance (or attempted deception) was the final indicator that he was clearly unfit to be president.

If you don't know the difference between the possession of weapons of mass destruction by terrorist organizations and nuclear proliferation, please go check out their respective wikipedia pages.
