Notes: A while back I wrote a series of drabbles, which consisted of descriptions of photographs. I wanted to do that again, posting the "photos" this morning, then throughout the day posting ficlets to accompany the photos. But that didn't happen, what with real life getting in the way. So, apologies for this being so late, and here's the first part. The rest will follow soon.
First Day of School
The car is stopped at a crosswalk. A stream of grade-school aged children are crossing the street. Timothy has a wistful look in his eye as he watches them cross. Donald watches Timothy, his expression thoughtful.

Misunderstanding
The kitchen. On the counter is a paper bag and a bottle of wine. On the table, a plate with a half-eaten piece of toast. On the floor in front of the stove, two fried eggs lay, one of the yolks miraculously unbroken. Through the kitchen window, Donald and Timothy can be seen raking leaves in the dark, their chore illuminated by the floodlights shining from the back of the house.

Party
The living room is full of men and women, dressed in suits and cocktail dresses. Timothy is looking at a cell phone, the picture of a baby visible on it. The man holding the phone is beaming.
Just behind them, Donald is also looking at a phone, with a picture of the same baby on it.

Halloween
Donald is at the front door, handing out candy to trick-or-treaters. Timothy stands behind him, out of sight, holding two martini glasses. He's smiling warmly at Donald.

Thanksgiving
The kitchen table, with the remains of a Thanksgiving dinner covering it.
Timmy and Donald are nowhere in sight.
