Early!Spock is kind of hilarious. His eyebrows are all pointy and he hits people with his fists. And he wears SO MUCH BLUSH. Which is really pretty damn adorable. :D

Speaking of which, AHAHAHAHA, I never noticed how much eyeshadow Kirk was wearing in "Charlie X." XD I think he's actually wearing more eyeshadow than Spock!

AND SCOTTY. SCOTTY OMG. SO YOUNG, SO HOT.

I know! The jawline! I remember the first time I went back and rewatched this episode, I was like, holy crap, is that Scotty? WHY IS HE SO YOUNG? The show only ran for three years!

It's kind of scary how much younger everyone looks at the start of the first season. Damn you, aging process. :|

And, yeah, I like your selective-canon idea. I mean, we all know "Spock's Brain" is not canon. And, like, obviously Kirk's name being "James R. Kirk" isn't canon...

I'm going to have to watch that pilot with Kirk/Gary in mind next time. But man, Gary's just such a jerk, even before he gets all silvery-eyed... I guess I can just be glad that Kirk winds up with Spock ( ... )

I never noticed how much eyeshadow Kirk was wearing in "Charlie X."XD

The weird thing is, it seems like he only wears it for ONE SCENE. When I noticed the heavy makeup I kept looking for it, but no luck. Weird.

It's kind of scary how much younger everyone looks at the start of the first season.

I KNOW. WHAT. Obviously Doohan is the clearest example but I swear Shatner's looks are strangely different too, and not just because of the chub. I don't know, he seems to have much more of a babyface thing going in the early episodes.

But man, Gary's just such a jerk, even before he gets all silvery-eyed...

Argh yes. But at least Kirk cares for him, you know? But man, you made me think of another thing - manipulative!Spock comes in and SAVES KIRK FROM AN ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP. YES I LIKE THAT BETTER. CANON. (The cheesy plotbunnies, they're everywhere!)
