I forgot to mention that I had breakfast yesterday with
groveperson, her husband, and their adorable son, while they were in town for a family wedding. It was wonderful to see them, and the kid is just too cute. He wasn't thrilled with having to be cooped up in a parent's lap or a high chair during the meal because he'd rather have been crawling, and he flung his food everywhere. In short, he was a normal toddler. Both
groveperson and her husband kept apologizing because the little one wasn't the always happy little guy they've described, which was silly.
I may not have kids, but I do know that when you put a toddler on a plane, and then keep that toddler in unfamiliar surroundings and in the constant presence of strangers who often rush in to touch or hug without giving the kid a chance to acclimate, the kid might be a bit out of sorts. And when he was happy playing with his parents, he was a laughing, giggling, squirming little boy.
We took pictures on their camera. Since I was going to be doing some serious photo shooting after breakfast for my folks (my dad's oil paintings, which turned out to be quite the project), and since there was going to be an inquisitive toddler at the meal, I didn't bring my own gear. Hopefully, when they get back home, they'll send me the pictures.
This was a good weekend. And to top it off, Accent is stopping by to return my Firefly DVD set, and to catch up on life.
