I'm at the hotel, safe and sound, just tired. My boss is an OK guy to travel with, except for occasional outbursts of testosterone-based chivalry when he insists on trying to help with my bags when I now have a healthier back than he does. He doesn't have those outbursts as often as he did when we started working together, so I think he's getting the message to some degree. Anyhow, it's not a huge deal, since we can joke about it.
Anyway, since we had an unexpectedly amazing dinner at the hotel restaurant, I consider the trip a win so far.
Salad: Avocado and crab meat, drizzled with a subtle berry vinaigrette and a fresh yet delicate pesto.
Dinner: Went with an appetizer consisting of sliced seared ahi tuna, sprinkled with green caviar, prepared with a chutney made from fresh mangoes, on a plate that was lightly drizzled in a few places with a jalapeño sauce. Ordered a side of grilled asparagus, which was sauteed to perfection in olive oil and delicately salted (I suspect sea salt).
The presentation was lovely, too.
So far so good. Sleep now.
