Name it Captain Deathpaw, Destroyer of Upholstery and Vanquisher of Any Rodent Smaller Than a Middling Shoebox.

[He is totally serious.

Except the part where he isn't.]

...Klaus. I am not naming a cat that whole thing.

You could call him Captain for short.

Captain by itself would work fine. Not... all of that. Perhaps as a nickname?

I wouldn't mind at all! I've loved animals since I was little, so it would be nice to have a cat around.

I... ah... I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to help much with names, though.

Oh dear, that makes two of us now.

I would just hate to go with something as common as 'Fluffy'.

[She laughs a little.] It's common, yes, but at least it's something. I'm horrible at names.... I named my wolf familiar "Arf" when I was younger.

Well, it's cute and somewhat clever, actually. I'm just not that big of a person on pet-only names. Good lord, I may just want to name it Oliver or something of that sort.

A cat is a good pet. They don't need as much upkeep as a dog and I'm sure they make wonderful companions.

I agree that naming them is usually the hardest. Usually I would choose a name I'm fond of or perhaps something you like that would work as a pet name is a good way of naming something.

All of the names I seem to be thinking of fit humans; Oliver, Jonathan, Sebastian, Richard, for a few.

[Funny you mentioned Richard. That's his name.] Oliver might be a good name for a cat depending on the color of it.

Ehehe, kittens are pretty cute, aren't they..? I sometimes like saying hello to them while I'm out on the streets..

They do tend to make me smile if I happen to pass by them. They're horribly energetic little things.

I think that if you get a cat, you should give it a matching cute name..

My first instinct is to ask the cat what name it would prefer.

[ Yes, she is totally serious. ]

I... am sure if I did that, I would receive n-nothing but mews in return?

You never know. Some cats never respond to names, though.

[ Then she gives a small giggle. ]

Failing that, you could name the cat something from your profession or hobbies.
