"I just came to say goodbye love"

May 08, 2004 03:27

there is no easy way to say goodbye to Buffalo.
It hasn't completely hit me yet. The fact that I graduate
tomorrow and I leave the day after to go home are still unrealized thoughts. "I should be crying but I just can't let is show." There have been times in the past two weeks that I have become overwhelmed by my emotions, but I doubt it will
really set in until I have received my diploma.

Buffalo was good to me. I spent part of the afternoon at the river today,
because it was gorgeous outside and I knew I wouldn't have another chance
to go before I left. I had to say goodbye. There have been tough times in Buffalo, no doubt, freshman year for example, the kyle drama, and numerous random other things, but I wouldn't trade my experiences in Buffalo for anything.
There is so much I am taking away with me from the past four years, including some really phenomenal friends. Looking back at the things I've done, people I've met, and things I've learned, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to have spent four years here. I know that I never would have become the person I am now had I stayed in Utica. Being away, becoming somewhat more independent, and growing emotionally and mentally are things that had to be done, things that have changed my life.

There is so much I will miss here, and so many people, yet I am amazingly optimistic about the future. Getting into Syracuse is just astonishing to me. I never thought I would be this person, to be lucky enough to have the opportunity to earn a master's degree at a school like SU. I am finally able to see my life starting to come together. So much is changing, but I couldn't be more excited!!!

This place was home, and will probably remain that way to me for a long time. I hope to come visit often, and expect maybe a couple people will visit me also. There really is no easy way to write any of this, so much is running through my head, and all the words in the world could not describe what I am feeling right now. Ecstatic, scared, melancholy, giddy, anxious... just some of it.

Since my severely emotional last day of class, and mainly Spectrum meeting, there has been only one person who has provoked tears that actually left my eyes. Leaving this person is probably the hardest part of leaving Buffalo, and shedding a few tears does nothing for the dread I feel inside for having to leave him. My Steven. From the first conversation we shared at Michaels to this very moment, you have always been able to put a smile on my face. Meeting someone like you never crossed my mind as being possible when I took the shady looking job at Michaels that represented my last resort. Working there was the best decision I could have made. You have made the past two years not only liveable, but comfortable and enjoyable. The sweet things you've done and said will never be forgotten in my mind. If I could I'd take you with me, we'd live in a big apartment with lots of framed art, bed frames, a freezer full of chicken fingers, a fart-free cat, and two half-dressed male servants (one thin and dorky looking, the other manly and scruffy), who would serve us frozen drinks or malibu and coke's (ew) at our heart's desire. I've never known someone whose personality compliments mine so well, who shares so many of the same interests, who never ceases to make every time we hang out memorable. You're the best dear. thanks for always living up to the title "best friend". I love you (in a completely non-trying-to-get-in-your-pants kind of way):P

to all the rest of the my beloved friends ... I'll miss you all... and hopefully I'll see you soon!

"Whoa, and then for the times when we're apart
Well, then close your eyes and know
These words are comin' from my heart
And then if you can remember, oh

Keep smilin', keep shinin'
Knowin' you can always count on me, for sure
That's what friends are for
For good times and bad times
I'll be on your side forever more
That's what friends are for"
