just a little bit special

I have often said that "teacher people are special people" meaning we're just a little bit different from everyone else. And while that is true, I have discovered that Math teacher people are special in their own so very special way. They are not as swayed by storybooks with attractive graphics and touching messages, or by a craft project expertly executed using little elbow macaroni. But today I was talking to a student who is a math tutor, and the math professor who runs the tutoring center came in, very excitedly telling the tutor that she had discovered two different ways to solve a particular problem. The tutor responded, also with a certain amount of glee, that she had solved it as well, and they rushed off together to compare methods. I was all but forgotten.  But that's ok; I'm just glad they didn't offer to show me! :P
