Slipping

I though for a moment
What I wanted was a continuation
Of the experience I was granted
Some ten long years ago
As I sit here waiting
For one o'clock
To call me outside
For one new opportunity
To shed my pride
I recognize
What I really want
Has nothing to do
With a worn out past
A time that could never last
Letting go is so much easier
When it isn't your hands
Opening to something new
As the old slips away
There is no blame
For your very own heart
Beating you up
Until you open
To become
To behold
To belove
Yourself
