The Calm After The Storm

Feb 16, 2006 14:01

A web of darkness and rain surrounded the Temple today when I was praying.
The cracks of thunder and flashes of lightning couldn't help but bring me peace.
Most are afraid of these outbursts of nature, but for some reason they tend to calm me.
Could it be the satisfaction of knowing the earth is taking out my frustrations for me?
Proving my point for me?
Taking out my anger for me?
Releasing the pressures built up inside me?
I love it when it rains. Pours. It's as if every drop is a tear that I haven't been able to shed. It is cleansing the earth and at the same time it is cleansing me.

"O God! Refresh and gladden my spirit!"

I am refreshed by the tears that flow from the sky.

It is as if God's strength is revealed ever so slightly to us in each clap of thunder and flash of lightning. I find it to be quite humbling.

I feel SOOOOOOO much better after a good storm.
