holding on with new meds

I forgot I haven't posted on here in a while. About 4 days after my last post on January 23rd I was hospitalized with sepsis as a result of a perforated bowel. The day I was hospitalized it became obvious my chemo meds have stopped working and they found 4 tumors the size of golf balls in my bowel. I had surgery that took about 10 days to get out of the hospital. Another tumor in my brain was found and a second brain surgery was done on valentines day. Now I have a scar on both sides of my head from the two surgeries. The second brain surgery was within 1 cm of causing loss of part of my speech abilities.

It has been almost a month since then and some of my ability to write and read have returned. I still have problems with math and comprehension I used to have and the doc thinks I should get some of that back over another month or two. It is a very wired feeling, but I still have most of my memories, just not quite as sharp as I thought. I think it will all be back soon but I hate not feeling as smart as I am.

I have started new chemo meds since the last ones failed. I will do another scan next month to see if these are working. If they don't mostly IV meds are what are available but they are less than fun. We'll see. I just want to quit getting admitted to the hospital. I go in for a day tomorrow for another gamma knife radiation treatment.
