Well, I had the most amazing night last night. I worked as a PA for the Broadway Meets Country benefit concert at Jazz at Lincoln Center. My job consisted of setting up the rehearsal room, working the rehearsal room when the talent came to rehearse and in the afternoon, to be Brian Stokes Mitchell's personal PA and make sure he is happy. So, basically, all day I got to hang out with Stokes, which was AMAZING. Also around were Patrick Wilson, Carrie Underwood (who sang a duet together), Ben Vareen, James Naughton, Marin Mazzie, Marian Seldes, Andrea McArdle, and many other country stars. The show was fantastic and since Stokes was the host (along with Lee Anne Womack), I got to listen to the whole concert in the wings, and got to watch a lot of it too. Everyone was just wonderful and everyone was so nice. Stokes is such a cool guy and is really really nice and was very gracious to have someone constantly in toe to help him out. The funny part of the day was, that he never came in through the correct check in area, so I never knew when he arrived, so whenever I was supposed to find him, I never could. It turned into a hilarious joke between everyone on walkie talkie cause I was always going "has anyone seen Stokes?" and constantly making rounds through the dressing rooms and green rooms to see if he had arrived. It was quite funny. But to end the night with a "thank you Rachel, I couldnt have done it without you" and a hug from Stokes, was quite the highlight. And that he trained on the highwire in a circus in CA and always wanted to do flying trapeze. (of course I brough up my trapezing......hehehhee, turns out it was a fabulous point of conversation). Hes just a really cool guy and I encourage anyone who sees him in a performance, to say hi, cause he is so nice and such a gracious performer. So, now I am off to my trapeze show, then running to the closing performance of Captain Louie, then coming back here for a little Louie partay! yipeeee. THis is Rachel, signing off! ciao! oh and come to my trapeze show next weekend.
