You all look at me like I’m a puppy that’s just been kicked. We’re all sitting in the living room, waiting. Just waiting for the phone to ring. It’s my house but I feel so out of place, the phone goes and Brendon picks up for me. The conversation is short. I’m told she’s coming over in half an hour. I want out. If I see her I’ll cry and I won’t be able to stop. Brendon settles beside me, wiping a tear that had made it’s escape from my cheek. Brendon-cuddles are the best for curing heartache; it’s the only time he’s still. We sit for what seems like hours, Spencer and Ryan on the other couch petting Dylan and Clover respectively. And the doorbell rings, I stay where I am, with Brendon I am Safe. With Brendon I cannot be hurt by anyone or anything. Ryan stands opens the door and hands her, her things. There’s a quite conversation, and by Ryan’s tone I can guess it’s not a nice one. I move closer to Brendon and try to merge with the sofa, I want to be invisible.
“We still love you Jon Walker”
She won’t ever see the tears I cry because Brendon will be there to catch them.
