Saga groaned when he felt his once dark vision of his closed eyes slowly lighten up and when he slowly cracked one eye, he saw that a ray of the sunlight was peeking through the curtains that is always drawn when night came. He realized then that it was already morning and due to the light sleeper he was, he couldn’t go back to sleep anymore.
He groaned again and buried his face on the pillow for a while and adjusted his eyes. When he moved his hand, he arm was bumped with an object beside him. He tilted his head and lifted it, opening his eyes fully and saw a glimpse of red peeking out through the blanket. He dragged the blanket lower and revealed a beautiful bouquet of roses. Saga’s senses were fully awake now and he sat up slowly as he picked up the bouquet. He examined it fondly for a while before finding a heart-shaped card between the roses. He took it out slowly and opened the card.
‘Happy Valentine’s Day, sweets. I love you so much. - Tora’
Saga smiled fondly at the message and inhaled the semi-sweet scent coming from the roses. He carefully put down the roses and the card on the bedside table and turned to the body sleeping beside him, facing him. Saga watched his lover breathing peacefully in his sleep. He slowly crouched over Tora and gently caressed his face lovingly. He kissed his lover’s lips lightly and whispered ‘Happy Valentine’s Day too, my tiger.’ before nuzzling his nose with Tora’s. Tora smiled subconsciously and leaned into the warmth of his lover’s. Saga smiled for the last time before sitting up again and stretched his limbs as he yawned. He climbed out from the bed and took the rose with him then exited the room quietly.

Tora woke up to only find an empty space beside him. He opened his eyes slowly and stared at his stretched out hand on the empty space. He blinked once, twice, and realized that his lover had woken up already. He turned and looked at the clock on the bedside table. It was half past seven and realized again that Saga had woken up earlier than their usual time. He finally sat up and rubbed his eyes. He caught something then from the corner of his eyes and turned to the object. He shifted to the edge of the bed and took the card from the bouquet earlier and opened it. It was Tora’s turn to smile fondly then when he read a familiar handwriting on the other side of the card.
‘Happy Valentine’s Day too, my beloved tiger. I love you forever. - Sagacchi’
He put back the card and finally got up from the bed, not caring that he was still only wearing his black boxers. He exited the bedroom and was greeted by a delicious smell. Saga was making breakfast, Tora assumed and he was also assuming that he had made chicken egg porridge judging from the smell. He walked further and saw his gift to Saga in a vase displayed on the living room table. He smiled even wider and walked to kitchen, finding his lover stirring a pot on the stove. Saga was wearing his usual bed outfit; an oversized T-shirt that hung low on his middle thighs. Tora wanted to find out then if his lover was wearing anything underneath.
“Good morning, tiger.” Saga greeted without looking at the said man.
Tora just chuckled and walked closer to Saga, wrapping his arms around his lover’s waist from behind.
“Good morning, beautiful.” He greeted back and kissed his lover full on the lips in a morning kiss when Saga tilted his head.
Saga kissed back and stared at his lover for a moment when they broke apart before turning his attention back to what he was currently doing.
“I see that you already saw my gift.” Tora said as he leaned his head on Saga’s shoulder.
“They’re really gorgeous, Tora. Thank you.” Saga said in a fond tone.
“Just like you.” He commented and kissed the side of Saga’s neck. “You’re very welcome, dear.”
Saga smiled and turned off the stove. Tora let go of his lover and backed away as he watched the younger man moving around the kitchen. He decided to sit on the chair of the dining table then and his stomach growled when he saw Saga bringing two bowl of porridge to the dining table.
“Smells delicious.” Tora said as he licked his lips.
“Wait till you taste it.” Saga said as he chuckled.
He sat down across Tora then and began to stir the bowl of porridge in an attempt to cool off the heat. When he heard Tora moaning at the delicious taste, he couldn’t hold back the slight whimper he unconsciously let out and blushed when he saw Tora smirking at him. Saga just waved him off and stared down at his own food, blowing the steam. They began to devour their breakfast in a comfortable silence then. Saga stopped midway and decided to get two glasses of water for them before continuing his breakfast.
“Do you have any classes today?” Tora asked as he finished gulping down his food.
Saga shook his head. “Just handing in my final project this afternoon. Around 1.” He answered as he too, finished swallowing his food.
“Oh, you finished revising it?”
Saga nodded.
Tora smiled. “You’re finally graduating soon. I’m so proud you.” He said with pride in his voice.
“Thanks.” Saga said with a smile also. “I guess we’ll be moving soon, huh? Did you finish the final contract?”
“I did. We can start moving at the end of this month.”
They both exchange smiles again and continued to finish their breakfast, feeling happy that they will move to a slightly bigger apartment. Not that they complained about this current one, but thinking about decorating and painting their new apartment excites them; a new place where they will decide together in everything. The apartment they were currently living was originally Tora’s. Saga was still commuting by then until he moved in with Tora.
When they finished breakfast, Saga cleared the table and put the dirty dishes into the sink. Tora wanted to help but Saga insisted that Tora has to get ready for work. Like an obedient kid, Tora did what Saga told him to do. Saga cleaned the dishes then and when he was finally finished, he returned to the bedroom to make the bed. By the time he finished, Tora had finished showering and changed into his suit with Saga silently stealing a glance to appreciate Tora’s glorious naked muscles. He helped Tora with his tie then and they stole each other a passionate kiss.
“Are you going to be home at the usual? 7 o’clock?” Saga asked when they broke apart.
“Yes, the usual. Want to have dinner out?” Tora said as he tried to trail kisses all over Saga’s neck.
Saga chuckled. “With Valentine’s Day going on? No, thank you. I rather eat home and cook dinner than going outside where it will be very packed.” He said as he tilted his head to give Tora better access.
“Good. I prefer your cooking anyway rather than anyone’s.”
“Aww… I love you too.”
Tora teasingly bit Saga’s neck and the latter just giggled. They finally let go of each other and glanced at the clock. It was time for Tora to get going. Tora walked to get his suitcase from the study room and went to the front door together with Tora. They shared one last kiss before Tora was off to work. Saga waited until Tora was in the elevator and closed the door.

Saga stretched his arms up and moaned in satisfaction as he exited the campus building. The office was crowded as usual and he was tired from waiting. He felt really relieved when it was his turn to hand in his final project and was rather irritated that he had to wait for an hour and a half just to hand in an assignment that only took less than ten minutes.
“So, do you have any plans on what kind of chocolate you want to give to Tora?”
Saga turned and just realized then that he was walking with a friend.
“What do you mean?” He asked bewilderedly.
His friend shrugged. “Valentine’s Day tradition.”
“Giving chocolates are for girls, You-kun. And I’m certainly not a girl, so why would I get Tora chocolates?”
“I told you, ‘traditions’. Anyway, I’m just asking. No need to get so worked up.” His friend said as he laughed.
Saga just blushed and adjusted his red coat. He didn’t like to admit that he was indeed the bottom in this relationship and it was no new news to his good friend about this so he wasn’t that surprised if You asked about this.
“Well then, I’ll see you when I see you. Bye, Saga.” You said as he took off a separate road from Saga’s.
“Yeah… Bye…” Saga said with a smile and walked to the other way.
He had planned on stopping by the supermarket to buy some ingredients for their dinner tonight. When he finally arrived, he took out the grocery list he made that morning and took a basket before proceeding on.
‘Giving Tora a chocolate…huh?’
He thought unconsciously and was suddenly passed the aisle of chocolates. He frowned a bit at the coincidence and was caught between to go check it out or just proceed to find the other items. He finally defeated himself and walked in to check it out. He looked and looked and saw a discount rack. He took a bar of white chocolate and a box of cocoa powder. He thought again and took two more bars of white chocolate. He quickly went to the other aisles as if he never went to the chocolate aisle in the first place with a blush lightly creeping on his face.

Saga stared down at the kitchen counter with thoughts on how to do these things. He had already changed into a casual outfit; a white tight-fitting tank top and long grey sweatpants. The utensils were ready on the kitchen counter and the pot was already on the stove. He read the instructions carefully and started to cook one bar first as the first try.
…And the first try wasn’t successful. He had somehow burnt the white chocolate and cursed and also thankful at the same time that he had only cooked half of the bar. He stopped and looked at the pot of the burnt white chocolate for a while before disposing it on another big bowl to let it cool down before completely disposing it outside. He tried for the second time, not taking off his eyes on the pot, making sure that he didn’t burn it this time. He smiled when he did it and tried the taste and then…
It was salty. What? Saga spit out the chocolate into the sink and checked the powder container and tasted the contents. It was salt indeed and Saga groaned loudly at his own stupidity. He put away the container and took another one from the cabinet, tasting it before finally convinced that this was sugar. He tried again for the third time and he was convincing himself that third’s time a charm. He was so convinced that he cooked the whole bar and concentrated on it, putting the sugar and stirred it for a few minutes. When he thought that it was done, he took one iron tray and put the chocolate batter on it in small portions. He sprinkled some cocoa powder at each chocolate then before finally putting it inside the freezer in total of two trays.
“Finally…” Saga uttered with a sigh.
Even though the weather was cold, it was weird that he was still sweating. He wiped the sweat off his forehead with a tissue and disposed it in the bin. He finally cleaned up the mess and decided to take a shower again. He glanced at the clock then and frowned. It was already half pass five and he was slightly panicking. Tora was going to be here in less than two hours. He crossed the thought of taking a shower and decided to start cooking for their dinner. He also tried to calm down and convinced himself that this will finish in time. Taking a deep breath, he started to prepare for their ‘romantic’ dinner.

Tora sighed happily when he finally arrived in front of the apartment door. He couldn’t wait to have that dinner with Saga and had been thinking about it since he arrived at the office. With a smile, he unlocked the door and was greeted by a delicious smell coming from the dining room.
“I’m home!” He announced as he locked the door behind him and threw his keys into the small basket on the small table near the entrance. He hung his coat then in time when Saga appeared on the foyer.
“Hi.” Saga greeted and hugged the other man.
Tora returned the hug and kissed his lover’s forehead lovingly.
“Let me take your jacket.” Saga offered as he let go of the older man.
Tora nodded and let the younger man take off his suit jacket. Saga then turned Tora to face him and taking off Tora’s tie. When he was done, Saga was about to turn and leave but was held back by Tora, catching his wrist.
“Wait…”
Saga stopped and turned to his lover again. Tora stepped closer and looked at Saga, scrutinizing him from toe to head. Saga was wearing a white silk see-through sleeveless shirt with a pair of tight leather pants. He was also wearing light make-up; an eyeliner and very thin lip gloss.
“What…?” Saga asked softly.
Tora smiled and put a hand on Saga’s face before leaning in to capture the other’s sweet lips.
“You’re beautiful…” Tora breathed after breaking the kiss.
Saga smiled shyly. “Thank you…” He muttered and took a step back. “Now go to the dining room. I’ll catch up with you after I put these.” He said and walked to the hallway towards the bedroom.
Tora just smiled and did as what Saga has told him. He walked towards the dining room and was greeted by the dining table already set up by food that Saga had cooked. It was a complete meal of steak, garnished with vegetables and two bowls of miso soup. The roses that Tora had given earlier were displayed in between the meals, but not really blocking each opposite. Tora smiled at the effort and was about to sit at the chair when Saga came.
“This is really lovely…” He commented and sat at the chair.
Saga smiled. “Thank you. I’m glad you like it.” He said as he too, sat across Tora.
After a few more conversations, they began to eat their dinner. They ate through conversations with Tora praising about the food and Saga every now and then. Saga could only thank him and couldn’t help but feeling happy and proud at himself because Saga was not an expert, he was just good at following instructions and directions, making him skillful at cooking. They asked each other on how their day was going and Saga couldn’t help but laugh at Tora’s story about his colleague getting his suit caught between the elevator doors. Saga brought up about Hiroto then, that Tora’s best friend was coming back to Japan at the end of the month because his exchange is over soon and Tora couldn’t help but be happy about it. They continued to chat and finished their meal.
“Ah ~ that was really good.” Tora moaned as he finished drinking his glass of water.
“Do you still have room for desserts?” Saga asked rather hesitant.
“Hm? We still have dessert?” Tora didn’t expect that there will be more.
Saga got up from his chair and walked to the refrigerator, hiding the object quickly behind his back before going back to face Tora. Tora looked up at his lover bewilderedly and in a swift motion, Saga put the object on Tora’s hands before turning away and sat across him again. Tora stared down at the object for a moment. It was a plastic full of white chocolates, tied with a red ribbon. After realizing what it was, his lips curled into a soft smile and looked up at his lover.
“What’s this?” He asked the obvious.
Saga frowned. “Chocolates, of course.”
The elder man chuckled. “Of course I know what this thing is, what I asked is what is it? What’s the special occasion? I thought you don’t do these kinds of things.” He said, holding back his urge to smirk.
Saga’s frown turned into an annoyed one. He huffed and crossed his arms, turning away from Tora.
“Just eat it will you?”
Tora couldn’t help but laugh at Saga’s behavior. His lover was really cute when he is embarrassed and Tora just loves him even more. He untied the ribbon gently and took one piece of the chocolates, looking at it briefly before taking a bite of it. Unknown by Tora, Saga was actually staring at the elder man, taking in the expression that his lover was holding. Tora’s face froze and made a weird face-in between disgusted and polite-before he swallowed.
“Uh…. Saga, honey?” Tora called hesitantly.
Saga slowly turned to Tora. “…What..?”
“Were you drunk when you made this….? Because it’s…” Tora trailed.
Saga leaned closer to Tora, waiting for the other to continue. “It’s…?” He prompted.
“It’s salty…” Tora finally uttered it.
Saga was confused at first, but then he realized that he must’ve mixed up a little with the wrong batter from his second attempt.
“Oh, shoot!” He cursed and face-palmed inwardly. “I must’ve mixed up with the wrong batter! Please, try another one…” He continued as he took another piece and shoved it into Tora’s mouth.
Tora was caught off guard by the action but chewed at the chocolate anyway. He chewed and chewed…with Saga looking at him worriedly.
“Well…?” Saga asked hesitantly.
Tora finally swallowed and stopped, licking his lips, purposely making Saga wait and when he saw his lover’s impatience, he smiled and nodded.
“That one was great. Not too sweet but not too bland either. It was a perfect taste actually.” Tora finally answered and got up.
“Really…?” Saga’s lips were slowly forming into a smile.
He watched as Tora walked closer to him and leaned down, taking Saga’s face closer to his. He caught Saga’s lips in an open-mouthed kiss, shoving his tongue inside Saga’s hot cavern. Saga moaned at the back of his throat, closing his eyes as he circled his arms around the elder man’s neck, tasting the sweet taste from the chocolate. They continued their open-mouthed kiss until the need of air was greater than the need for each other. They broke apart then, panting heavily and stared at each other’s eyes.
“Thank you…” Tora whispered and gave a final, loving kiss.
Saga smiled when Tora leaned his forehead against Saga’s. They stayed that way for a while, enjoying each other’s warmth. Tora finally let go of Saga and Saga stood up.
“Let’s clean this up. Don’t want the apartment to smell now, do we?” Saga said before starting to collect the dirty dishes.
Tora nodded and helped his lover.
“Torashi… would you do me a favor?”
“Hm?”
“Can you throw away these two plastic bags into the trash bin?”
“Sure.”
Tora put away the dirty dishes into the sink and took the two plastic bags before heading for the entrance door. On the way to the trash bin, the plastic bag’s strap suddenly broke; startling Tora and making him stop. He sighed and crouched over the spilling contents, immediately realizing what the contents were. It was the chocolate batter that Saga had made. Tora stared at it for a while then smiled, his heart suddenly feels warm. Saga had tried so hard on making the chocolates for him. He could tell that Saga had attempted many times before finally making the perfect one. Tora couldn’t help but feel how Saga really loved him. Saga was really earnest about this Valentine’s Day thing and Tora couldn’t be happier.
He tied the plastic bag into one and carried it again, throwing away into safety. He returned back into the apartment and saw Saga already finished rinsing the dishes. He smiled widely and hugged the younger man from behind, lips leaning into the other’s ear.
“Saga…” He called softly.
“Hm?”
“Let’s turn in now…” Tora whispered seductively, nibbling the other’s ear lightly.
Saga smirked inwardly as he finished rinsing the last plate. He turned sideways and found Tora’s face close to him.
“Are you sure? It’s still too early to turn in, you know…” He said as he put a hand on Tora’s chest, getting the elder man’s shirt wet.
“Mmm… half past nine is not early… and you know it, you teaser…”
Tora nibbled the younger’s bottom lip as Saga giggled. His giggles turned into gasps then when Tora’s hands snaked its way inside Saga’s shirt, raking his nails into the flesh softly. They began to make out again, blindly walking towards their bedroom. When they reached the door, Tora broke the kiss and kissed the younger man’s head.
“Thank you so much, my love. For everything… today. I love you so much.” He whispered again, voice full of fondness.
Saga looked up at him and smiled, caressing his lover’s face.
“Don’t mention it, my tiger. I love you too…more than you’ll ever know.”
They shared another passionate kiss before Saga turned on the knob and opened the door. Tora pushed Saga back gently inside before closing the door to show Saga just how much Tora loved him, making a perfect end for Valentine’s Day.
