Motherhood: Not that hard...

Dooming myself with my own post title :-P

Edric is now four weeks old, and I seem to be doing OK at this lark.  He slept for seven hours last night (in one stretch!) so this is only a Good Thing.  Of course, he's now not settling for his morning nap, but at least he's in his basket and keeping himself amused by batting at toys.  He's definately purposefully batting them now, rather than flailing and hitting them by accident.  Last night he also turned his head to watch Beloved as he moved around the bedroom.  His fine tracking itsn't developed yet, but he's certainly progressing, and I'm certain that not all his smiles indicate wind :-)

On Sunday we both went to TK.  Beloved played and I took Edric along for a walk for the first few encounters and then I went to a softplay place with javez_tmf and his daughter for the afternoon.  Then we went back to the carpark before popping along to the pub for a drink.  Mmmmm mulled cider!

Last Tuesday I went to Stitch'n'Witch all by myself and it was very good.  I missed Ed, but didn't feel the need to phone home to see if he was alright.  Plus, the blanket is in the last stages and this is excellent.  I'm knitting the border on now (thanks to shinyjenni for picking up the side stitches for me) and it should be all done by Christmas :-D

Christmas shopping is... well.  I have ideas, and I suspect that Amazon will be my friend this year!

This afternoon I'm popping out to see amicuand show off the Kraken for an hour or so.  I'm going to take the knitting as well, as when there is someone else to be able to keep Edric amused it will give me a chance to get my teeth into it for a while.  It's a bit of a pain when I'm halfway through a row and he starts to shuffle, because I just *know* that he'll want feeding soon!

I really need to make sure that I ration my mentions of the mini-tyrant in these posts.  I don't want to bore people!
