Not really got a terribly huge amount to say, really

Hmmm, I feel like I ought to update, as it's been nearly a month since the last one and I used to be so much more prolific at this.

Firstly, baby-frothing (sorry). Beloved and I went to the second of the four NHS ante-natal classes last night, and despite the fact that it was actually about the birth, I found it a lot less scary than the first session, which was about the signs of labour. I had a dream last night that I gave birth to a child that could walk, talk and was fully-potty trained from birth. I guess that's the wishful thinking bit getting to me :-P.

I'm at six months now - 27 weeks have been and gone and I have pretty much bang on three months to go. So far the most we have done is look through the Toys R Us catalogue and star the things that we want. We can't get anything yet because we have yet to clear (and then redecorate) the little room which will be Spawns. We have to get the loft hatch widened and a fixed ladder put in so that we can get things into storage a lot easier. The room can then be cleared and sorted ready.

The knitting of the merino baby blanket is... progressing at a rather slower pace than I could have hoped for, but I am trying one of the more complicated squares that involves yarn-forwarding and slip-slip-knitting and wotnot, and I'm not that much better than the most basic sort of instructions. I started this square over a week ago at Stitch'n'Witch, but when I tried to continue it at home that evening I cocked it up and frogged the lot to start again. I've got it back to the start of the patterning, but have not yet worked up the courage to actually start it!

In better baby news, my Sister-In-Law popped on the 30th June, and I now have a rather cute looking nephew called Alexander. I knew I was getting a nephew, but they decided to keep the name quiet and I approve of it. We have yet to meet him, but it'll happen in time. I just have to find the noisiest and most irriitating toy in the whole of Toys R Us first...

Babyfrothing over.

Climbing continues, and there doesn't seem to be any particular drop in my abilities just yet. I am getting tired more quickly, though, but I'm happy to stand at the bottom and belay. The good thing is that Beloved has been along a few times, and we have also bought him shoes and a harness, and his own chalkbag so that he doesn't have to hire. We're off to an outdoors venue very soon with gedhrel which I'm hoping His Nibs will enjoy as much, if not more, than indoors climbing. I'm incredibly proud of my husband - it's a lot of hard work, and he's thrown himself at everything we've suggested to him, and has a fantastic attitude towards the whole sport. It also means that he and I can head down the wall without me having to bother gedhrel all the time! It's also very good for me, even in my condition. It's keeping my back and legs strong, and these are the muscles that I'll be using the most in the next few months.

In the world of larp, I'm making kit for other people now.  I've been commissioned to make a rather spiffing (if I do say so myself) over robe for one person, and there is the possibility of another piece lining up soon. I'm really enjoying it - I like the creative side and the chance to not feel guilty when wandering around Fabricland and Hobbycrack, running my fingers over the bolts of cloth and going "oooo". The long, long job of hemming said over robe is being a pain, though - my back is up to extended periods of being bent over the sewing table any more! However, I am very pleased that this robe is sleeveless, because there's no way I would have been able to set sleeves - I'm just crap at it! I have today and Saturday, maybe a bit of Friday, to get the robe finished ready for TK this Sunday. It should be done by then!

Not much else has been going on in my life, really, so I'll leave it there. Stay good, everyone!
