So Weird (TV)
Fiona "Fi" Phillips
This show has been on my mind again recently. I love Fi’s curiosity and determination-she’s like an American Luna Lovegood with her faith and her family tragedy, if without the outside calm and dreaminess. She’s brave and caring, and I enjoy her relationships with her family and fellow travelers: the bickering but clearly loving interactions with Jack, the understanding and care with her mother, Clu being a little less doubtful about the things she says are happening. I’d be happy with her and any of the characters! Adventures we didn’t see, backstory, what she’s up to after she leaves the show, an AU in which she stays, communications with Annie, what happens if she comes back during the third season or at any point afterwards. For ships, I like Fi/Clu and Fi/Annie, and original female characters would be okay by me too!
With regard to handling my DNW of underage, I’m fine with AU’ing her so she’s older in canon, or setting things when she’s older.
Crossover Challenge:
Between the nineties/2000s setting and the supernatural elements, I can’t help but think of a Buffy (the show incarnation) crossover. I’d love it if Buffy met Fi. What if Molly had a gig at the Bronze? Or if the characters ran into Buffy before she moved to Sunnydale, or when she fled to L.A. between seasons two and three? Shipping them would be absolutely okay by me!
I can’t think of a prompt for these, but if you’re intrigued by the idea of a Game of Thrones crossover or a Star Wars crossover, I love the characters of Daenerys, Brienne, Ahsoka, and Anakin.
Any of these fandoms would also be great as a setting AU for the So Weird characters!
W.I.T.C.H. (Cartoon)
Cornelia Hale (W.I.T.C.H. Cartoon)
I liked how firm and confident Cornelia is. She’s stubborn and proud, but devoted to her friends. I loved her dedication to Elyon and how she went through all that trouble alone to try to reach her. I’d be happy with anything: backstory with her and Elyon and/or the other girls before Will’s arrival, missing scenes between episodes. For shipping, I’m good with her canon relationship with Caleb, or pretty much any femslash, and here’s a link to my Cornelia/Phobos request for Fandom Growth this year. Also, I’m familiar with the comics, so if you want to take inspiration from there for some things, or draw from them for what Cornelia might’ve been up to in the show’s season three that never happened, that would all be perfectly good!
With regard to handling my DNW of underage, I’m fine with AU’ing her so she’s older in canon, or setting things when she’s older.
Crossover Challenge:
Girls fighting evil, multitple dimensions from which magical people and creatures originate: is it W.I.T.C.H. or is it Buffy (show incarnation specifically for this)? I’d really like if Cornelia met Buffy. They both have a similar backstory of being proud blondes into fashion who get destiny thrust upon them and prove themselves to be brave, loyal friends despite the apparent mismatch of their new roles with their personalities. It makes me think of how well Buffy and Cordelia seemed to get along at first; imagine how differently things might develop for Buffy and Cornelia, since they both have magical powers and Cornelia already has friends who aren’t just followers. Shipping them would be absolutely okay by me!

The Forgotten Beasts of Eld - Patricia A. McKillip
Sybel (Eld)
I love Sybel. I love her pursuit of knowledge, her taking to the animals, her living in solitude with the beasts she calls, her processing as she is drawn closer to the human world, and I love her almost taking revenge for the violations she was/would have been subjected to. I’d be happy with anything: a day in the life under her dome, her trying to adjust to living differently with Coren, her relationship to her magic. Or what if she’d decided to take her revenge on Drede immediately after escaping the wizard? On the shipping side, I’m good with her canon relationship with Coren, and if you want to do any femslash with an original character, that would be great too!
Crossover Challenge:
I’d love to see a crossover in which she meets Daenerys Targaryen! I’m mostly familiar with the show, but I’d enjoy a meeting with book Daenerys as well, or a combination of show and book elements. They both bond with legendary beasts, but in different ways, and they’re both beautiful white-haired ladies who exist at a kind of remove from everyone else, even if Daenerys is surrounded by people and tries to find belonging in her quest for queenship/saving the world, while Sybel was content to live with the beasts. Too, they both carry on different family legacies in a way: Daenerys carries the burden of her name and her desire to do better than her ancestors, and is the first in many years to be able to wake a dragon; Sybel takes to the ways of her family in her care and calling of beasts, and is doing so undisrupted until the events of the book. What if one of them were AU’d into the other’s setting, or both settings were fused together? Shipping them would be absolutely okay by me!
Or, what about a Star Wars crossover in which she meets Ahsoka Tano, or Anakin Skywalker? Ahsoka also has a relationship with a mystical creature in the form of Morai, and like Sybel, she does live in isolation seeking knowledge when she descends into Malachor. Or she and/or Anakin are on a mission which ends up involving a sorceress on an uncharted world. Plus, you could do things with how Force-sensitives feel things through the Force, because they’re all connected, and the meditation, and how Sybel has this space in her mind where she knows herself, and a clarity which allows her to call the beasts to her.
I can’t think of a prompt for these, but if you’re intrigued by her having her meet Brienne, or by the idea of a Buffy (show incarnation) crossover in which she meets Buffy, I’d love that too!

Romeo x Juliet (Anime)
Juliet Fiammatta Arst de Capulet (Romeo x Juliet)
I love Juliet's path from vigilante to resistance leader, and in particular how she incorporated the first into the latter (with more success than when she tried so hard to just be the Capulet avenger her stewards and Tybalt all thought she should be at first.) I was also left really intrigued by her dynamics with Tybalt and Hermione. There was a friction that melted into a kind of respect and understanding, I think, and I'd love to see that explored. Or just backstory as she grew up in Montague-controlled Verona, and maybe her exploits with her theater friends! As to ships, I don’t really ship Juliet/Romeo but I’m okay with it, so it’s fine for that to be part of the story! I do ship her with Tybalt, Hermione, Emilia, and Cordelia, and I would be intrigued too by hate sex or marriage of convenience for her and Leontes.
With regard to handling my DNW of underage, I’m fine with AU’ing her so she’s older in canon, or setting things when she’s older.

Heirs to a family ousted from power and hunted down, tasked with the burden of restoring its name and destroying its enemies, having a deep empathy for people and a desire to perform heroics for them, good at inspiring speeches-it could be really cool if Juliet met Daenerys! What if one of them were AU’d into the other’s setting, or both settings were fused together? Shipping them would be absolutely okay by me!

ETA 3: I have learned that So Weird is available on Disney+! I didn't mention it in my promo posts because it hadn't happened yet, and it might not occur to anyone to check there, so it felt right to mention it here.
