Dear Author,
Thank you so much-I’m so excited to see what you’ll create! I apologize for the lateness of this letter. Please feel free to not use it; it’s only there in case you’d like to see some thoughts and prompts. If you don’t need them, or if you get sparked in another direction entirely, don’t worry! I’m sure I’ll love what you come up with. Also, some of these sections may be longer than others, but please know I want everything! This is a Frankenstein letter, a mix of old and new.

Parallels and contrasts between characters and their journeys.
Characters looking out for each other and rescuing each other, giving care and emotional support. Especially women receiving care and support, getting their needs made a priority by their loved ones.
Canon divergence and role reversals are loved, though I also enjoy other AUs.

The Republic Era
Anakin Skywalker/Ahsoka Tano
I really love these two, how they mirror each other and go such down different paths, how first Anakin tries to hold onto Ahsoka and then Ahsoka tries to hold onto him, the tragedy of their failure to manage it and living with that. I’d love something sweet during any time period; what about one of the times he’s sharing his mechanical knowledge-which he got from his mother-with her? I like to think it’s his way of meditation, and that it’s how he trains her with regard to that aspect of Jedi life. Or what about after a battle, when they both need to talk or just be together? I really liked the point in her novel where she’s thinking about how he used to take care of her after battles, help her deal with the mental toll of the war. I love their banter and their pleasure in dangerous situations, so maybe a moment building on that. Or something leaning on the near-telepathic abilities the Force gives them, with regard to being able to sense each others' feelings--they might sense something and pursue the matter, or get distracted and lose control of their own feelings. Not to mention, the Force gives them more stamina, so they could last awhile. Maybe they could celebrate a victory, or just let out their mischievous/competitive side during sex/something romantic. Or they could have any of the conversations they might otherwise engage in, except during sex/something romantic. Or they could be fixing his prosthesis! How about an AU where one or both of them was never found by the Jedi: Anakin remains a slave, Ahsoka was successfully captured as a toddler and sold by the bounty hunter (I love that bit of her backstory for the what-if of how she nearly had another thing in common with Anakin), so they run into each other under those circumstances; only one of them goes through what’s described above, until they’re found by the Sith, while the other remains a Jedi. Or maybe he tries to reach her after he’s gone back to the Light Side; what do they say, and how do they begin to move on? Does she know it, with the mystical transformation she seems to have undergone by then? Or what if he actually survived-they thought their time to live was over, and now they have to deal with living in a galaxy they never expected, together. I’d also love a Regency AU (set in space or somewhere more historical) akin to Sorcerer of the Crown by Zen Cho, with Anakin in this unstable position in society due to his origins and Ahsoka, also with a less than respectable background, swooping into his life with all her confidence and talent. Or a fairytale AU! Some fairytales I can think of that might be relevant to this pairing are “The Snow Queen” and “East of the Sun, West of the Moon.”
Dooku/Ahsoka Tano
They both left the Jedi, disillusioned, and took very different paths. It’d be fun to give them a reason to talk to each other! If Ahsoka had been with Anakin in the rescue of the Chancellor, would she have stopped him? What if she had, and things turned out so that Dooku felt he had to run off with her as a hostage for safety? What if Ahsoka went into the past from Rebels and, trying to avoid meeting herself and anyone she was close to directly, fell into working with her old enemies by accident? Maybe she ends up working with Dooku instead; older Ahsoka gives him a shock, being wiser and more powerful, and he ends up reconsidering his allegiance to his master? Of course, eventually her Force presence and the shenanigans do bring her to the attention of her former self and her old master…Alternately, Dooku ends up going forward-perhaps in the World Between Worlds, Ahsoka looks on a scene with him and they can feel her gaze, so they investigate and she winds up pulling him through. They then find themselves adrift in a new galaxy, working with the last Jedi against the Empire they were all used to build, and more directly against an enemy Ahsoka once knew. I also like the idea of them being stuck in loops, but the Force-sensitives being able to feel impressions of all the previous loops, which affects their dynamics and feelings for each other throughout time.
The Empire/Rebellion Era
Ahsoka Tano/Darth Vader
I really love these two, how they mirror each other and go such down different paths, how first Anakin tries to hold onto Ahsoka and then Ahsoka tries to hold onto him, the tragedy of their failure to manage it and living with that. It seems to me that trying to kill Ahsoka was not in Vader’s plan-he’d wanted her alive before, and he had opportunities he didn’t take-so what would he do if he ever did find out she survived him? Especially if she never came out to try and find him. Does he try to keep her a secret? Keep on going in the face of her not coming back? Or maybe he tries to reach her after he’s gone back to the Light Side; what do they say, and how do they begin to move on? Does she know it, with the mystical transformation she seems to have undergone by then? Or what if he actually survived-they thought their time to live was over, and now they have to deal with living in a galaxy they never expected, together. Is he exiled or hidden in some distant world, or even in the Unknown Regions, and does she go with him or does she find him? Or a fairytale AU! Some fairytales I can think of that might be relevant to this pairing are “The Snow Queen” and “East of the Sun, West of the Moon.” I can also see a bit of a Hades/Persephone element.
Cassian Andor/Ahsoka Tano
They started out life on opposite sides during the Clone Wars, very young--although the difference of Ahsoka being fourteen and Cassian being six is significant--and end up being vital to the Rebellion: Ahsoka as an early leader who founded the spy network, Cassian as a leader who took the name she created and stole the Death Star plans. The other thing that interests me is that Ahsoka, while not Jyn, did need some convincing to join the Rebellion, after a year of just being on the run and doing disorganized good deeds that went against the Empire on the way. And that's after walking away from her position in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. Whereas Cassian got into this when he was a child and never looked back. He was certain of the cause and clung to that, where Ahsoka did not.
As the person who ran the spy network for most of the years between the rise of the empire and a New Hope, I like to think Ahsoka would have known of Cassian and perhaps even met him, before he adopted the name she created--Rogue One is only a few years after the events of Rebels, if I understand things right. Or just go AU with it. If Cassian was ten years older during the Clone Wars, might he have encountered Ahsoka directly, or indirectly? How would that work if they met again within the Rebellion? Or if he were an ISB agent and she were a Sith? what if she had been a Separatist too? If the CIS had won the war, could they both be high in the government? Or maybe just one of them, while the other is part of this AU’s Rebellion?
Kaeden Larte/Anakin Skywalker/Ahsoka Tano
Ahsoka loves them both a lot. I love her missing Anakin and I love how meeting Kaeden is part of her regaining the sense of purpose and belonging she lost when she left him. And Kaeden could have two awesome warrior lovers to protect her! I’d love some AU where Anakin is on the run too and they welcome him into their relationship, or perhaps Anakin was with Ahsoka when she hid on Raada. Or, what if Ahsoka and Kaeden wander the galaxy doing good, and then suddenly they need to rescue Anakin? Or what if Anakin joined up with the Rebellion and is the person who reaches out to recruit Ahsoka, having been searching for her the whole time? I love Kaeden’s respect of and interest in Ahsoka in the novel, as well as how they handle Ahsoka keeping things from her; what would it be like for her to have to deal with Anakin, who’s even more likely to do this?
Ahsoka Tano/Thrawn | Mitth'raw'nuruodo
Ahsoka as Fulcrum plays cat and mouse games with Thrawn. Ahsoka has to have fucked up Thrawn’s plans during her decade and a half time as the Rebellion’s spymaster. They wouldn’t have met face to face then in canon, but what if they had? Maybe for a brief moment, they are trapped together and have something almost resembling a civil conversation. Or what if she’d been on the Empire’s side, and he had to deal with her (plus Vader?) when trying to deal with Kanan and Ezra? What I like best about Thrawn in Rebels is his villain’s admiration for Hera and Sabine over Ezra and Kanan; might be in part because they’re not Jedi, but I enjoy him being drawn to the women, and I think it was a shame he only appeared after Ahsoka was gone. So if you want to play with that!
The Resistance/First Order Era
Ben Solo | Kylo Ren/Ahsoka Tano
One of the most intriguing get-togethers that hasn’t happened. In their own ways, they each represent Anakin’s legacy, and they have their own relationships to that and to him. Ahsoka is his path not taken, having faced her own capacity for darkness when she wanted vengeance and chose against it, and Kylo Ren believes he is continuing his work by choosing against his capacity for goodness; as they both turn away and leave him behind, they continue on their paths, one to remove herself from the galaxy at large until she is needed and the other to dominate it in an attempt to fulfill his own needs. Does Kylo Ren ever find out his grandfather had an apprentice? What if he met her on some pilgrimage to Malachor? Or, in a universe where Anakin survived and Ben Solo still became Kylo Ren, would Kylo Ren find them together, and perhaps come to a different choice? Or maybe he finds Ahsoka in a sleep-like trance in the ruins of Malachor, and waking her leads to her being able to ward off Snoke’s influence? Maybe she trains him instead of or in addition to Luke, or a repentant Ben finds her when he’s trying to put what’s left of his destruction into a new life.
Poe Dameron/Ahsoka Tano
Ahsoka would be a legend by now, and I really like the idea of her having authority over Poe-or sway if she’s not an official part of the Resistance for whatever reason. What if she’s one of his heroes? Meanwhile, his being a hotshot pilot could give her a little nostalgia. She could keep an eye on him, but not really mind. Maybe she’s just come back from Malachor, and it’s the future, and she’s willing to help the Resistance once they’ve all confirmed who they are (perhaps with some help from Leia or Chewie). Or she’s one of the allies in the Outer Rim, having returned from the Unknown Regions, and he might’ve been sent to her; alternately, she saves them at the eleventh hour and they have an encounter in a brief moment of downtime.
Rey/Anakin Skywalker/Ahsoka Tano
I love Rey and how she is much like Anakin and Ahsoka both, in different ways. Her desert upbringing, her loneliness, the way she stays for people who have done her wrong. Think of how she won’t leave Jakku until Finn comes back for her on Starkiller Base, and how Ahsoka promises Anakin she won’t leave him, and how Ezra comes back to save her from him; think of how they both see something in Anakin and Kylo Ren respectively, and are both betrayed by them. Ahsoka and Rey are the bright to Anakin and Kylo Ren. They’re also the light side of his legacy: the kindred spirit he trained, and the girl his weapon called to and awakened. Given Rey’s propensity to get into vision-triggering situations, what if she had one of Anakin and Ahsoka? What if she wound up in a timeless space like Mortis or The World Between Worlds, and had a chance to interact with them, or go back in time? Or maybe their ghosts come to visit her, perhaps as part of or the end result of a dream-quest.
Crossovers
Ahsoka Tano/Buffy Summers (BtVS TV)
They’re both so resilient and brave and snarky. They are both lost to themselves and to the world sometimes, but they persist in living and eventually finding meaning and purpose in their fight again. They’re unconventional and independent and caring and that’s what saves them, and what makes them good leaders who inspire others and connect to them in terrible circumstances. Fuse their universes, have one of them visit the other in a dream-they’re both psychic that way-or have some portal shenanigans with the Force/Hellmouth. Maybe one of them is stuck in a temple via cryogenics or a spell and the other finds them in the ruins. Or, they run into each other when Buffy’s in that trap that turns homeless Earth people into slave labor; maybe in this case it’s actually something like the hunting game Ahsoka got caught in during The Clone Wars, and this time they’re trapped together! Escaping and bonding ensues.
Star Wars as an artifact of pop culture exists in the Buffyverse. I'm fine if you want to handwave that away or if you want it to remain so, however you handle it. maybe Once Upon a Time it, with there being different Realms of Story, from which Buffy characters and Star Wars characters are pulled to live in the real world. Or Jumanji it, where characters from either canon are stuck in the other and have to deal with all the rules until they get out.
Anakin Skywalker/Buffy Summers (BtVS TV)
Two destined heroes, unconventional within their context and struggling to balance their duties with their personal desires, capable of deep love, and hellishly dangerous in battle. A slight tendency to brood and cut themselves off because they are the One and nobody else can do what they can do. Then, they both experience the depression of having to keep living when they thought their life was over, they were done, and it would have come as a relief to be dead. Fuse their universes, have one of them visit the other in a dream-they’re both psychic that way-or have some portal shenanigans with the Force/Hellmouth. Maybe one of them is stuck in a temple via cryogenics or a spell and the other finds them in the ruins. Or, they run into each other when Buffy’s in that trap that turns homeless Earth people into slave labor; maybe she ends up on Tatooine instead, or he and/or Shmi got taken there at some point from Tatooine, and they escape together. Then they bond! Maybe they’ve been dreaming of each other all this time without knowing, being a comfort to each other. Maybe when Buffy died, they connected on the astral plane, and then she’s pulled back to life…

Anakin Skywalker/Ahsoka Tano/Buffy Summers (BtVS TV)
Both Anakin and Ahsoka remind me of Buffy and vice versa: the compassion, emotionality, and snark with all three; the destiny and constant striving for a personal life with Anakin and Buffy; the determination to do what's right and question authority with Ahsoka and Buffy. They’re also all supremely skilled fighters who like getting a good workout. And they’ve all experienced mystical dreams in one form or another. As for how to make it happen; I'm mostly interested in the mechanics as a way to throw the characters together, but if you want to weave the mechanics in as a part of that, I'd love that too! Buffyverse canon includes alternate universes and dimensions, along with portals and spells designed to bring/send things from one place to the other. Star Wars has its own weird mystical worlds going on. Work with that as you will. There's also the possibility of setting Star Wars as legitimately "long long ago." Maybe have them be ghosts --Buffy does on occasion get visions and dreams from ghosts. A Star Wars character could be frozen in carbonite/mystical sleep, found in some old temple. Or do it the other way around: the Buffyverse happens first and then, whether as a ghost or a serious case of Sleeping Beauty, Buffy makes it to the Star Wars time and galaxy in an old temple. Maybe someone’s just immortal! Buffy gets affected by her resurrection/the Slayer spell, Ahsoka gets affected by her resurrection, Anakin is capable of coming back physically once he’s been a Force Ghost long enough. Or, what if they occur at the same time and in the same universe/dimension: AU Earth into the Star Wars universe, or have it be discovered during the Clone Wars.

Ahsoka Tano/Spock (Star Trek Prime Timeline), Ahsoka Tano/Michael Burnham (Star Trek Prime Timeline)
I’m a late-comer to Trek, but I’ve really enjoyed Discovery and the original series so far, and am interested in possible parallels/contrasts between Vulcans and Jedi. The value placed on detachment, the way they draw strength and healing from deep meditation, and the value they put on peace over war--which is true of the Federation as well of course, but still! They’ve been raised to be calm and dispassionate, controlled, yet with very different backgrounds. I love all of these characters, how deeply the values of their culture matter to them, while at the same time they must navigate it from a position of difference: Ahsoka once she left, reconsidering everything after being made an enemy of the state, Spock with his part-human heritage, and Michael with her being raised outside of it and having a different biology. They all have to reckon with who they are and the context they live in; it would be very interesting to see that play out in the context of relationships with each other. Fascinating, even. In a universe in which both the Jedi and Starfleet exist, how might people with different yet similar philosophical backgrounds relate? What if Ahsoka comes to their side of space while on her quest for Ezra? Or maybe she walks out of her dimension via Malachor and into Star Trek’s.
Ahsoka Tano/Amalthea | Unicorn (The Last Unicorn - Any)
This came about because Amalthea being a Unicorn forced into a mortal body and Ahsoka having the avatar of the Light Side put into her make them a potentially interesting pair. That and how they both experience being the last of their kind, what it’s like to have to change in the face of that, the refusal to let it be true in their search for others. They also both exist somewhere in-between two categories of being: the Unicorn after Amalthea knows love and regret, Ahsoka throughout her life knows and accepts her attachments even as she lets them go.
They’re both beautiful, wise, mystical beings touched by ordinary life and yet living apart from it. I’d love anything that works with that.
Maybe the Unicorn’s forest is a whole planet, or some sacred untouched place far from the center of the galaxy. Maybe Ahsoka is pulled in during her travels, or instead of going back to Malachor from the World Between Worlds? Or you could AU Ahsoka into the setting, have her be a wandering knight and mystic the Unicorn or Amalthea meets on her travels. What if, when Ahsoka died on Mortis, she spent the moments she was dead somewhere else, with time working differently there?
Ahsoka Tano/Yvaine (Stardust 2007)
Yvaine watches the world, and is not part of it; Ahsoka is part of it, but meant more to help here and there as a Jedi than to take a role in galactic affairs. They both love adventure and action, even if Yvaine has never known it before falling from the sky. They’re both wanderers, and mystical beings of a sort: Yvaine the star, Ahsoka what’s left of the Daughter, the embodiment of light. If you go with the book version of Stardust, they can never be among their kind again, and they continue after the people they love most are gone; there’s a breath of loneliness to them.
What if Stormhold is a planet, and Ahsoka comes to consult-and to grieve-with its ruler? Or maybe she just comes to investigate some strangeness associated with it. Or Ahsoka is an immortal being, coming to join the land of Faerie after the long ago events of her life, and meets Yvaine on an adventure there? Maybe Ahsoka is pulled in during her travels, or instead of going back to Malachor from the World Between Worlds? What if, when Ahsoka died on Mortis, she spent the moments she was dead somewhere else, with time working differently there?
Ahsoka Tano/Dream of the Endless | Morpheus (Sandman Comics)
What with Ahsoka’s ties to mystical beings, this seemed an interesting ship. Dream’s the embodiment of dream, and Ahsoka has absorbed the essence of the embodiment of light. Maybe Ahsoka’s resurrection is a sort of rebirth, and she becomes something of a mystical creature herself. Or maybe her further explorations of the Force lead her to meeting Dream. Perhaps both.
Anakin Skywalker/Daenerys Targaryen (Game of Thrones)
These two are charged with energy all by themselves, and the thought of them with each other is delicious. Both of them have this intensity of feeling, and the whiff of prophecy about them. They both have a desire to remake the world around them for the better, and a ruthlessness in following that drive. With interesting differences: where Dany is willing to learn to rule and to navigate mercy while in an environment that encourages violence, Anakin is raised to value mercy but struggles to adhere to it, and he isn’t raised to think he can rule-he just decides it as part of his personal fuck everything breakdown. What would it be like, if they could meet? The potential vibe reminds me of the Daario scene where he kneels and delivers the heads of her enemies. At the same time, they started out as gentler souls, and they have love in their hearts. They could share an understanding, I think. They’d be a potent mix. Also, I like the appearance of flight in their stories: Anakin is the best flyer and it’s part of how he got out of slavery, where Daenerys is the first to fly dragons in many years, which provides her with both power and a means of escape. Plus they both love doing it. And I know this is more book Daenerys, and I haven’t read the books, but the line “if I look back, I am lost” has always been very striking; it seems like something that could apply to Anakin, who, as he states in The Clone Wars film, “[doesn’t] want to talk about my past...The desert is merciless.
It takes everything from you.”
Feel free to AU either of them into the other’s universe, or have them share one, or let the mystical shenanigans fly free. They dream of each other during bad times, they might or might not know they will meet.
Ahsoka Tano/Daenerys Targaryen (Game of Thrones)
I love these two. They both no what it’s like to go without a home, to be hunted, to live in exile and disconnected from what they think, or once thought, was theirs, but it’s also very different for them: Ahsoka choosing to leave what she thought was her life behind and struggling with the weight of it as she attempts to move forward, and Daenerys trying to reclaim what she believes is her birthright while struggling with the weight of her family’s past as she tries to move forward and do better than they did. They both share a resilience in the face of hardship, and an idealism, a need to find purpose in making the world better, and a capacity for love even as they struggle in isolation-as well as a degree of impulsiveness and recklessness. Daenerys is a dragonrider, which gives her power and a degree of freedom, a rebirth, while Ahsoka is associated with a mystical bird involved in her resurrection, and with the open sky. What if Daenerys were leading a rebellion against the Empire from the Outer Rim, and Ahsoka ended up in her service? Or what if the disillusioned Ahsoka, having just left the Jedi, runs into her while becoming a vigilante in the underworld? Maybe it’s a situation similar to Onderon, where it’s in the Republic’s interests to have Daenerys back on the throne but they can’t be seen to interfere, so Ahsoka is sent to help Daenerys in secret. Feel free to AU either of them into the other’s universe, or have them share one, or let the mystical shenanigans fly free.
Ahsoka Tano/Thor (MCU)
I like their arc of embracing their culture and wanting to be the best within it, only to become disillusioned as they learn more about the Jedi/Asgard and their relationship to their cultures and to the wider universe. They both choose not to accept the position they thought they would have, as king/Jedi knight, and travel the stars instead, only to find that they do need to come back to that position, only with a greater understanding of who they are and what they must do. And they both know what it’s like to be totally lost to themselves after great trauma. I also enjoy their confidence, their humor, their dedication to service, and their fighter’s instinct. What if an AU in which Jedi Ahsoka has to be part of a mission with prince Thor? Or Ahsoka, a refugee in the wake of the Empire’s rise, meets King Thor and his Asgardian refugees? Or both?
Ahsoka Tano/Valkyrie (MCU)
Both disillusioned, both choosing different paths-or one took a longer time to get back on theirs, depending on where you take Valkyrie from. Valkyrie is the last of her kind and Ahsoka is the last of hers, at least to her knowledge until Rebels. Maybe they’re both lost and meet each other in a bar, Valkyrie having left Asgard and Ahsoka having left the Jedi/being on the run from the Empire. Maybe Ahsoka needs to find a place to lie low, and Sakaar provides, but not without its own troubles. Or Valkyrie and the Asgardians’ escape from Thanos leads them into the Unknown Regions, where Ahsoka is on her quest. What if the Asgardian empire is still conquering, and Valkyrie is still serving its throne? Are they at war with the Republic, or is Ahsoka a Rebel agent?
Anakin Skywalker/Ahsoka Tano/Missy (DW 2005)
Both Star Wars and Doctor Who are highly capable of crack, and I love it.. The timeless/all-times hot spots of Star Wars-Mortis, the World Between Worlds-could pull the Who characters in, or perhaps dump the Star Wars characters into something unexpected. And what if Missy tries to mess with them to have a little fun and attract the Doctor’s attention?
There’s a prompt I’ve borrowed, with permission, from
selenak.: Missy bodyswaps with Ahsoka, so Anakin is stuck with her and Ahsoka is stuck with the Doctor. I liked the idea of Missy in Ahsoka’s body making herself empress with Anakin serving her, but I’d also be delighted if you want to do the bodyswap part without it going that way.
I’d also love some other way for Missy to come and mess things up for them; she managed to trap souls after death to turn them into Cybermen after all, and you know Anakin’s thing about death. Maybe he’s trying to repeat what he did with Ahsoka, or even bring her back from the dead when he thinks he as Vader has killed her. Or maybe Ahsoka runs into the wrong portal-and Missy-when she’s navigating the World Between Worlds, given how it can take you anywhere you’re thinking of, and they get into a mess with Anakin, which the Doctor tries to help set right.
Once more, thank you so very much! I hope the exchange is great for you!
