Awhile ago I noticed something which… maybe interesting, or… maybe stupid. Either way I wasn't sure if I was the only one having thoughts like this and wanted to share.
WILD ANIMALS:
WILD TIGER: Actual wild tigers will use their claws/paws when hunting. Generally they are used for knocking their prey off balance, or holding them down while they complete the kill. The Tiger's forelimbs and shoulders are very muscular and can twist inwards for that exact reason. I actually read somewhere a long time ago that with one swipe of a paw, a tiger could break your skull. Although, that may or may not be 100% accurate. They are also a solitary animal which like to keep to themselves and their territory. Well, aside for caring for offspring or during mating season.
WILD RABBITS/BUNNIES: Actual rabbits obviously have very large and powerful hind legs, which help them run at speeds of 25-45 mph (or so I've read.) when needed. They also help them jump roughly 12 feet in order to escape a predator. In addition to jumping, a rabbit can also kick very fast and hard when needed. Since rabbits are also preyed upon often, they are very observant of their surroundings.
APOLLON MEDIA SPONSORED HEROES:
KOTETSU T. KABURAGI: Clearly his forte is in punching, which he is often seen doing the most. His original hero card even reads "The punch is his specialty." (remember his "special" Good Luck Mode arm and Barnaby's leg?) His character design shows how much upper body strength he has. Its even mentioned somewhere (I believe) that he works out a lot on a daily basis, so even without his NEXT powers he processes great strength. (I mean the guy threw a tree all on his own. Although some could argue that thats partly due to the adrenaline of saving his daughter.) Even some of his personal habits seem to mimic a tiger's. Being that tigers are solitary animals, Kotetsu himself comes across as being similar. He bottles up his own personal issues and keeps to himself, no matter how serious.
Ever notice how Kotetsu's sense of justice/morals (and Kotetsu in general) seem so "rare" in the series? Ths may be taking this whole thing a step too far, but it kind of made me think of how real tigers are becoming extinct.
BARNABY BROOKS JR: Definitely the opposite of Kotetsu, Barnaby's forte is kicking. His character design also shows him as being very physically fit, but not quite in the same way as Kotetsu (more lean maybe?). It seems to me that he has more speed and agility (lower body muscles) of the duo. This may also sound silly, but even his "Handsome Escape" is similar to an actual rabbit's methods of escaping predators when in danger. (Jumping, anyone?) I can even take this a step further… Barnaby has incredible observation skills which he demonstrated in the Jake episodes when he noticed Origami's wristband.
Now compare a real tiger with Kotetsu and a real rabbit with Barnaby. Yes, the show may be called "Tiger and Bunny" but… this makes me wonder about their character designing process. (there, I fixed what I meant, sorry!! ;; OTL) The answer may be overly obvious (or not)… but either way I thought it was kind of interesting? It also makes me wonder if Barnaby thumps his feet like an actual rabbit when upset, hahaha. (kidding, kidding!)
