The good, the bad and the ugly...
Actually, there isn't much bad and ugly lately... but that was the last Title on my iPod this morning on my way into work by Ani. :)
Sooooo application is in and the grad committee is meeting later this week according to my contacts at the Crane School. :) I would like to have that letter in hand like- yesterday though...
Rob is interviewing for a 1/3 time position in the Indian River School District... all the other full time positions are too far away from school and well, thats where we need to keep ourselves around... I'm not going to do this f'ing commute again- 2 hrs each way if I'm not getting paid thousands of dollars to do it!
I'm also being considered for the Music Director position at the First Presbyterian Church on the Park in Canton. Doc Gordon's old post. I'm planning on going back there to sing and apparantly they're hiring another Music director. Rev. Mike who I've been in touch with let me know and said If i was interested to send my materials- which I did that week. The session meets at the end of the month and I'm praying really really hard for the post. It would be a trememdous opportunity- one that I would completely embrace. Its so hard to get these positions, let alone- starting out, and this church would be the PERFECT place for me as a novice to 'break into' this 'field'. Also, I would learn boatloads coupled with my full time Grad work in Education and I think all parties would benefit from the total emersion of the situation. My concerns is that I look 17 and I'll be coming right on the heels of Two Doctorate predecessors... but we'll see. Pray that it works out!
Work is good, but I'm itching to move on. only 3.5 more months...
I just led my last SAI meeting on Sunday and I couldn't be happier about it. I have very mixed feelings about the SAI New York Alumnae Chapter and while its in a transitional period, I just need space and distance from my time spent there. It wasn't bad, just terribly terribly annoying.
Um, other than that its just the waiting game. School, summer, work, vacation, ....
Steph (Johnson)'s bachelorette party is this weekend on the heels of her shower on Saturday... thats going to be a shit show! It will be good to see Pizzino and Leah, etc. again. Sometimes is just soooooo fun to get together with girlfriends and go out. "fuck boys tonight, i just want to DANCE!" I can't wait to have friends again when we return to Potsdam... I really miss that about where I am right now. :/
I'll try to write more frequently but i just like signing in to read about all my friends.
