Today, I had an encounter with a B.O.U.S. a.k.a. a bug of unusual size! Okay not really. I just like to exaggerate. I have a fear of bees/wasps/any insect that is more dangerous when it is flying.
So I was walking past Rizal Library minding my own business when this giant black fuzzy bee approaches me and attaches itself to my shirt! And I've never been stung by a bee, I have no idea what to do if one flies really close to my body (besides screaming like a sissy and hiding behind someone else), and for a while I thought of running away but then I remembered this dude on Animal Planet who whacked a hive with a stick--what an idiot--and all the bees chased after him and he had to be rushed to the hospital.
I tried to flap my hands around for help but everyone around me was just: O.o? All I could see was that sinister creature. Positioned completely still. Over the spot where my rightmost flab should be. It. Would. Not. Let. Go.
My heart seized. That bee was too darn close! Looking down with panicked eyes I tried to communicate with it: "WHAT DO YOU WANT WITH MY STOMACH, BEE. WHAT CAN YOU POSSIBLY ACCOMPLISH THERE."
I don't know what really happened next, given how frightened I was, but after a while it eventually flew away. Thank God. I was safe. But it was only when I looked down at myself that I discovered why I attracted it in the first place--I was wearing floral print. Of course. I looked like a freaking flower. It even had all these bright purple and pink flowers scattered over it, and the part of my shirt which the bee clung to was the perfect image of a sunflower's petals. Sorry for leading you on, Mr. Bee. :(
With that, I proceeded to ugly-cry/laugh my way to class.
(P.S. At first I thought it was a wasp, but then I did some research and I found out that wasps are usually yellow and not fuzzy like the one I encountered. Plus wasps are actually pretty aggressive insects! Bees, I believe, don't sting humans unless you provoke or threaten them. At least bees have the decency to be productive members of the animal world, you know, making honey and all that. So bees are actually cool. Not wasps. Wasps suck.)
well this was unexpected,
