so the past few weeks have been pretty cool. am on spring break now. things have been super busy at work. staged at chez panisse. it was really cool. went on chinatown field trip with chef rhoda. went on wine tour of napa with the school and bought a bloody expensive bottle of port. drove by the cia at greystone of one of the students commented that it looked like hogwarts, which it does!

had some pretty good wines by being at the right place at the right time this week. at chez panisse, the entire kitchen crew gets to sit down and eat together after the second seating is over and just so happens that some kermit lynch guys were eating at the restaurant that night and brought us some awesome burgundies. what got my heart was a 2004 chablis and we also had a gevry-chambertain, but i wasn't as fond of it as the chablis. also got to eat some awesome quail that night.

yesterday at work, i sat down for my staff me and this wine guy from the ferry building was dining at alamo and just hanging around and he offered me some of his italian wine from the campagnia region. i didn't look at the wine label very well, but it was pretty good, a little richer than the typical italian white. he also said he'd hook me up with an aglianco wine, which i love and rarely see and when i do see, it's $50 a bottle.
