As you all know, yesterday was the 4th of July/Independence day.
I went to Jon's for a barbeque type thingy... with hotdogs and hamburgers.
Aside from the really hot weather and almost dying from fireworks multiple times, it was a whole lot of fun. Well... the part Jon and I didn't sleep through. (We went to bed real late and got up real early... resulting in a 3 hour long nap >.>)
After we woke up, it was time for Jon, Norman and Colin to be idiots with fireworks. Mainly consisting of Colin and Norman making middle-eastern inspired sounds while firing bottle rockets in the woods, and then hiding pretending like being in the middle of war when the neighbors shot of anything and Jon actually attempting the slightly dangerous things. The most frightening being taking one of those huge night-time artillery shells and putting it under a shop-vac bucket, lighting it, and running off. Luckily I was there to capture it on image... mind you, my lens was ENTIRELY zoomed out for that image.
I decided that 10 feet would be a safe distance... boy was I wrong. Colin and I were along the side of the house, and a huge green ball went right between us causing us to dive in opposite directions. Among other things, Jon decided it would be a good idea to take 30 or so bottlerockets, put them around a large pipe and light them with a propane torch. 3 or 4 of them decided to go down and it was comical because Jon had to dance to avoid them. Other images from the day. (Not many)
Jon lighting a random rocket thing.
Colin and Norman working together as "soldiers"
This one was just cool because of the smoke.
