Inevitable. It’s a word that’s right up there with God at the top of Dean’s shit list. Unchangeable, nothing you can do, just accept it. Nope. No way. Not Dean Winchester. Not where Sam is concerned.
Inevitability is crap. Destiny is crap. Death is crap. Sam’s not dying, no matter what his doctor says. They can send all the grief counselors they want Dean's way- Sam’s pulling through.
The chapel’s quiet; frightened people scattered through the pews sending out desperate pleas to entities that if they do hear, don’t care. Dean joins their ranks, throws his own name out on the prayerwaves along with an offer of his not inconsiderable help. Someone will come, for one reason or another. Dean’s got no doubt at all.
