Oh my gosh, I love this! I have to admit, I haven't cared that much about Maria, probably because I don't read the comics. She was good in the movie, but I kept seeing her as the "How I Met Your Mother" chick, so that was kind of off-putting. But I love her in this story! She was totally bad-ass. She and Natasha make a great butt-kicking team. And I love that even Darcy got to contribute to the girls kicking butt, too. I can't tell you how much I love the guys showing up (well, OK, guy showing up) and not having to do anything because the girls already saved themselves.

It's a little thing, but I think my fave line was: Jane gave a short laugh. "SHIELD knows all your secrets, Darcy!" Hee!

I'm so glad you got carried away on this one. Super fun. And of course now I'm looking for the sequel. :)

LOL I kept seeing Maria as Robin too. But hey, you know Robin could kick some butt if given the opportunity... she is a rough and tumble Canadian after all ;)

See, I have the advantage in not having watched HIMYM but once, and being more focused on Alysen Hannigan's character than Cobie Smulders' that one time I watched it. (I may rewatch with renewed interest now.)

And my notes on the story were all kinds of everywhere - who was doing what, how much they were doing, and how they resolved the problem. Tony was always going to arrive after the girls had rescued themselves, but his opening line was thanks to a RL friend I was chatting with. :D

And yes, there is a sequel in my head. The problem will be writing it.

It started off life as a simple action/adventure, "the girls defend when attacked" and then turned into something a little more complicated during an examination of villain motivations and a conversation with my sister.

And I really wanted Pepper to get the little jab in at Natasha. Just a little of her own back. :)
