Come to see him was exactly was Kuroro was doing-he'd figured that Shito didn't really mean it, but he was damned (more so than usual) if he was going let such a delicious opportunity slip away from him.
So, the sound of space ripping like fabric, probably something Shito was familiar with opened up in the hallway. Purely so that Kuroro could knock on the door. "Shito. It's me."
Even though Shito thought Kuroro might come to see what was going on, he wasn't expecting it to be quite so quickly.
He set the comb down again and got up, crossing the room and opening the door.
"Hi," he said shortly, avoiding Kuroro's gaze. His eyebrows were still drawn together with residual anger, but he didn't blame Kuroro for any of it. He'd always been good to Shito.
The first thing Kuroro did was place a hand on Shito's shoulder, locking his black eyes onto Shito's crimson opposites. "Yes. I saw." Blinking just once, he spoke again. "Why?"
Shito looked up, stiffening a little under Kuroro's hand. The thing he'd never admit was that every time he was accused of such things, all he could think about was Toho. It just hurt too much to bear, being constantly reminded and belittled in that way, even if he told himself that they were just being assholes and didn't know.
Some of them knew, though. Michael knew.
"I hate that place," he said, his voice a low, angry hiss. "I hate everyone there. They all... I'm just sick and tired of them."
"It's true there are a large collection of people I'd be glad never to see again there." With a tiny amount of pressure applied, he both squeezed and pushed Shito's shoulder a little.
"But it's still a part of your life. We both know you can't just turn your back on it." Creeping a little smile on, he entered Shito's room, slipping past the zombie. "For long anyway. So, lets call this your vacation."
"You really can't, Shito." Kuroro flopped down onto the bed, sitting up and watching his fake friend with gentle concern. "If you try to ignore it, it'll just find ways to get to you. You know it doesn't even need a camera to record us. The more you struggle, the tighter it will trap you. You'll just end up with all the parts of your life you don't want revealed plastered up there for all to see."
He paused to let that sink in, but kept control by continuing. "But that will take a while. So. You're going to get the best parts of that community without the worst for a while. Apart from me, do you have friends there?"
Shito knew this, of course. He'd been trying not to think about it. He made a show of shutting the door and locking it while Kuroro presented his argument, so he could avoid those bottomless black eyes.
He crossed the room and sat down on the bed beside Kuroro, drawing one leg up and wrapping his arms around it.
"I don't know," he said slowly. "Devit...maybe. He seems like a friend sometimes. Other times he's a pain in the ass. And I don't think I could ever really trust him."
He shrugged. "Everyone else either thinks I'm a sex toy or doesn't even know who I am. Or both."
((Edit: Since Devit also wants to come and check on Shito, would it be all right if he comes and interrupts them, too? It might be fun to see them in a room together, all three of them))
"He seemed an alright guy to me when we spoke, but I don't know him too well."
Briefly placing a hand on Shito's knee to give it a gentle squeeze, he tilted his head slightly. "People will always make stupid mistakes. As long as you've got some people who don't, it's alright." Moving his hand, he leant back, shuffling a little distance away. "Believe it or not, I don't really have a lot of friends myself. You don't need many, to be happy."
(That sounds like something more awesome than cherry pie, so lets go for it!)
"I never thought I needed any at all," Shito pointed out. His knee tingled where Kuroro had squeezed it. He shifted a little as Kuroro moved away, inching a tiny bit closer.
He sighed softly. "Devit's all right sometimes. But he's also a childish brat a lot of the time. And in his own world he's helping someone to bring about the apocalypse or something. He's planning on killing every human being on earth."
And, more importantly... "And...he can control me."
Heh. Kuroro got a real kick out of Shito's movement to be closer, and leaned forward again, just to see his zombie's reaction. "Everybody needs somebody. Being alone is like being without limbs. It's a part of being a person. You can't turn it off, no matter how hard you try. Trust me, I know from experience."
Listening to the teenage bodied victim speak about the other teenage bodied thing, Kuroro nodded slowly. "I've met people with worse goals. It's something terrible, certainly, but it's not my world, and I don't have the right to even comment. I'm more concerned about controlling you."
Shito didn't move away when Kuroro leaned closer, which was as good as permission to get closer coming from him. He was really, really bad at asking for anything, particularly anything that involved physical contact.
"I...know, you convinced me of that before," he said reluctantly. "I can't really be alone. It'll make me crazy."
He chewed his lower lip. "Well, I don't really care about it, either. Like you said, it's not my world. But it means he's that kind of person, that's all. Someone who would do something like that. Though most of the time he seems like he's not really a killer. I wonder why he's doing it at all."
He curled in on himself a little more. "All he has to do is give me an order in person and I can't disobey it. And he knows it. He hasn't really...abused it lately, though. Not lately."
"I'm glad you understand. Don't forget that, alright?" Gently, Kuroro patted Shito on the cheek, slipping a tiny smile onto his lips before becoming all business. On the surface at least. Kuroro found it delicious that he himself had successfully committed genocide, rendering an entire race of people extinct just to make some money, not to mention Shito's comment that Devit 'seems like he's not really a killer.'
"Have you tried asking him?" Rubbing his chin, he kept his cool nicely-really, it he was a little annoyed, but a little amused. Devit had a more direct control over Shito, but Kuroro had no doubt he owned him more than anyone else. "Well...That's distressing. I want you to promise me that if he does start abusing it, you'll tell me. I don't want anything to control you like that."
The pat on Shito's cheek earned Kuroro a glower, but he wasn't too irritated. When Kuroro's manner turned businesslike again, the glower faded quickly.
Shito was slowly starting to unbend as he talked and was distracted from the real reason he'd been so upset. He crossed his legs, resting his arms on his knees.
"Asking him if he's killed people? I'm sure he has," Shito said, frowning. "And even if he hasn't, he's tried, and stood by while people were killed, and helped in killing people. But even still... I don't know if it's really in his nature, deep down."
His hands clenched for a moment over his knees. "I can take care of myself, Kuroro." There was little heat in his tone, but a hell of a lot of stubbornness.
"I meant, asking him why." Kuroro brought his own legs up, their length requiring him to cross them over each other in an almost meditive way, circling his fingers idly around one knee.
"I know. But what people 'can' do and what they should is different." Kuroro's own tone was relaxed, cool and calm, delivering each word softly. "In a situation in which someone can control you, taking it head on, one on one is never a good idea. Even not in a combatative way. I know-I've been up against people with that sort of ability in hundreds of situations. I have can do something like it myself."
"I've asked him why," Shito said irritably. "He just says something about being a Noah, and following the Earl of Millennium, and how humans are beneath him. But I think it's a party line."
They were facing one another, their knees almost touching. Shito was still weighed down a little compared to Kuroro, though, his curling hair falling into his face.
"You do?" he asked, his head coming up for a moment. There was a flash of wary suspicion that vanished quickly in Shito's red eyes.
"Well, I've already faced Devit head on once, when we first met during a virus. He thought it was funny, then, and I just did what he wanted after a while because it was easier." He shrugged a little, avoiding Kuroro's eyes. Maybe he really was the slut Michael accused him of being. "It's been better since then. We didn't see each other in person for a while, and we've been getting along. He doesn't think it's fun to make me do things anymore, I guess."

"I can turn my back on it if I want to," he growled, shooting a glare at the computer.
