March madness
Today is International Women's Day. I like to call it the Super Bowl of Gender, or maybe the World Cup of Gender? At any rate since I switched jobs IWD is a lot more mellow affair. This year's theme, DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality, falls squarely into my colleague's domain so she took the lead on all the internal comms.
Per tradition, Z wore his "This is What a Feminist Looks Like" t-shirt to school, which led him to yelling MOMMY AM I A FEMINIST when he returned home. Apparently several classmates and teachers questioned him and his response was, "I guess?" Oh my sweet boy.
We had several celebrity sightings recently. We watched Canadian Olympic hockey players Marie-Philip Poulin and Sarah Nurse play in the annual professional women's hockey showcase. And we saw Design Mom Gabrielle Blair talk about her new book, and of course since there's only one degree of separation among Mormons we had dinner with her the following night. She was absolutely charming.
