heading into the holidays
We had a freakishly warm period and now we are in classic fall weather - much cooler and blustery.
We attended two "new to us" Halloween events. One at the Library of Congress which was just OK though Z hadn't visited in a long time (since the Native American puppet show the day after Thanksgiving in 2019) so we had a good look around. The other was at the Japanese Cultural Center where everyone was excited about my Naruto t-shirt. Z wore a Naruto outfit along with four other boys from school.
We are returning to Chicago for the holidays and now that we know the city better we are going to do some different things. We definitely booked one whole day to visit Legoland. I really like Chicago and should plan to return by myself in the warmer months so that I can go on one of the architectural boat tours.
Holiday madness has already descended - on Halloween I checked out one of the Santa photo ops we'd attended in previous years and all the dates were already sold out. Grr.
I guess "Island in the Sun" by Weezer is now our family theme song. Z sang it during costume karaoke at school and then he and I did a duet at the Filipinx karaoke lunch at Georgetown.
