So if you haven't heard, I've been doing really well at work. My supervisor let me know that she'd heard that 4 different people complimented my phone demeanor. This makes me proud. I got a little choked up.

I rebuffed a teenager's attempt to impulsively "buy" a puppy from us.
Her exact words: "Aww! I wanted to get a dog TODAY! C'mon, let's go buy a fish."
