Even though I generally find coverage of breaking news on cable news channels to be pretty depressing and occasionally exploitative, it's kinda refreshing to be sitting here watching Anderson Cooper (aka my cable news crush)'s coverage of the rescue of the Chilean miners. I'm most certainly praying for those men. The fact that they survived the initial event was already pretty incredible, considering these stories are usually pretty bad news. But then they've been down there for 68 days and are about to be pulled to safety in a procedure that's never been tried before is amazing. My boo Anderson just told me that they were down there for 17 days without even knowing if anyone was looking for them and have been surviving on a liquid diet (after a diet of 2 tbsp of tunafish and a swallow of liquid for the first few weeks). This is such compelling tv, I can't believe they've about to be rescued and we're watching it on tv. Incredible...wow! I think I'm seriously going to cry when they pull the first miner up; I'm already tearing up. I'm so tired but I need to stay awake to see this.
I can't wait to wake up (tomorrow? Thursday?) to hear that they've all been safely pulled up to Camp Hope and are saved.
So thankful this is happening,
Ticachu
