Black Friday

Nov 27, 2009 17:00

Going into work was a total waste of 6 hrs of my day! First of all, I was there before dawn (again) and after a rough night of very little restful sleep. And then there was nothing to do, especially because our agencies are all c-l-o-s-e-d. The digital people had things to do because of online Black Friday deals and setting up for Cyber Monday. But as far as the rest of us? I got zero emails. Emails came in about our Black Friday ad but the Print Mgr (and his backup) were out, about which the other managers loudly protested to our Director. Considering that not having adequate coverage also came up on Wednesday, I have the feeling there will be a whole convo-drama about this on Monday.
I did kinda forget to send two reports I was supposed to send today. Oops. But since nothing had changed on either from last week, I don't think it's that big of a deal. The world's not going to end if people don't get those until Monday morning if needed.

In much brighter news, I just got my flight home for Christmas - Thanks Delta! It looks like they are Black Friday-ing airfares for Dec-Feb travel with very few blackout days; my roundtrip flight was only $120! I tore this place up looking for my AmEx so that I could hurry up and book.

I want to go attempt the grocery store so I can get items for tomorrow's dinner...but I've been sucked into the Iron Bowl. Auburn is having one heck of a game! I hope they can come out with the win. Well, that and I'm still curious what's going on with this Tiger Woods situation today. Accident in the middle of the night doesn't make the press until 12 hrs later. He ran into a fire hydrant and a tree and there was no alcohol involved? If we're not blaming it on the Nuvo, what was really going on?? And then CNN acted like he was on the verge of dying (I hate CNN for breaking news now), but now it was just a "minor" accident? Something doesn't smell right about this.
