Island Definition
There appears to be some people who believe that an island is a land mass surrounded by an 'ocean'. Here's an example.
In case you didn't know, the dictionary definition is "a tract of land completely surrounded by water, and not large enough to be called a continent." This make Richmond an island. If you still need proof that Richmond is an island, here's a snippet from the City of Richmond website.
