Dear Yuletide Writer
Hello there! I've been hearing about Yuletide for years, but this will be the first year I actually participate. Thanks for offering my fandoms! A few general notes about all my requests:
- Considering how puny these fandoms are, I'd probably be happy with anything you write, haha. But for general pointers, I'm a huge fan of character-driven stories, friendly rivalry, friendshippy stuff in general, and missing scene-type fics, among others. I don't mind porn either, though I'd rather it takes place with the participants being 18 or older.
- I don't have many hard dislikes, although I'm not big on crossovers. I also would rather not see infidelity treated positively.
- These prompts are just guidelines in case you need some inspiration. If you have a completely different idea you're dying to write, feel free to knock yourself out and write that instead!
Ping Pong The Animation
Characters: Tsukimoto Makoto | Smile, Hoshino Yutaka | Peco
Gah, these two. I simply adore how their relationship changes and grow, how they went from unconsciously mutually sabotaging each other to more positively affecting each other. I ship them so hard you'd think I work for a courier, but even as friends I still find their relationship fascinating, so feel free to write their relationship either way. I'd love to see something set within the five years before the time-skip epilogue, especially if it addresses how Smile changes from the emotionless robot he was to the cheerful personality in the epilogue - surely the change didn't happen overnight? What role does Peco play into it? Something more bittersweet set during the middle of the series when they're mostly avoiding each other could be interesting too. I'd also totally welcome PWPs - maybe some clumsy first-time scenario, or post-epilogue long-distance cybersex, or whatever you want. tl;dr if it has Smile & Peco, chances are I'd be happy about it.
Teppuu
Characters: Mawatari Yuzuko, Ishidou Natsuo, Ringi Cordeiro
Yuzuko, I find, is a damn interesting character. At first glance, she seems like your usual hot-blooded shounen protagonist in female rival format, and it seems to be just common sense that she rubs someone like Natsuo the wrong way. But slowly we get to see how that overly straightforward personality of hers actually also creeps out other people around her as well, without Yuzuko herself seeming to realise it. I'd love to see something that explores this, whether it be centred on Yuzuko's obliviousness to how unsettling her attitude can be or viewed from a third-person's perspective.
If you'd rather not write about Yuzuko solo, I find her and Natsuo's rivalry fascinating, especially how "backwards" it is with our main character being the petty, ill-natured one about the rivalry. Whether it's straight-up rivalry or something more rival-shippy, anything that centres on their rivalry would be great. I also find her friendship with Ringi really interesting now that we know that Ringi started out not being able to stand her. Maybe you can write something about how they manage to get from there to the point in time when they're more able to be friendlier with each other? I also won't mind aged-up porn with either pair - femslash porn with muscles, mmm.
Shounen Hollywood
Characters: Any
When I first checked out this show I didn't expect much, but I ended up enjoying it quite a lot. It's not as flashy as your average idol show, but I actually loved the show's subtle characterisations and how it's got an undercurrent of melancholy while not veering into downer territory. Friendship-centric gen with the boys would be awesome, regardless of where you set it. Early on when the new Shounen Hollywood has just been formed? Missing scenes from their training days? If you're not worried about getting jossed by the upcoming season 2, something post-Christmas concert would be great too. I'm totally fine with other characters joining in too - you can add Tommy to round up all members of Shounen Hollywood, or the President and Tesshi (and Cat!) can join in as well. You don't have to do ensemble fic either, you can just focus on one of the boys - maybe something with Kakeru or Kira and their respective families, or Makki and his old friends, or even more on Shun's musical aspirations.
If you're looking to write something slashier, I have somewhat of a fondness for Kira/Makki. There's the way Kira saved Makki's ass a couple of times when Makki's close to messing up, the way Kira's kinda hard on Makki but not completely dismissive of him either, and of course there's that whole part when Makki wanted to quit Shounen Hollywood. Something that leans towards fluffy without being overly saccharine would be great. I'm not too interested in porn for this pairing, though!
