New Teaching Position.
I'm the new Technology Education Teacher at the High School. I was approved and appointed by the Board of Ed tonight. My new course (our new course, MovieAlex and I are team-teaching a history & technology interdisciplinary class) was also approved. I received some very solid and professionally exciting comments and compliments from one Board member with regards to multiple, independently motivated student comments that were made on my behalf. The students made it very clear.
I'm teaching in my field, in a district that is giving me the trust and support to teach my subjects as I will, and it's a clean, safe, rural area. The students are great kids to work with. Respectful highschooler... what? Yeah. They are. I have good equipment, a great lab and top-notch software, solid tech support within the district, and my labs (4 of them) are running the range from decent to almost-cutting-edge.
Once I got down here I worked really, really hard. I sacrificed a great deal of fun time, social time, and personal time to make this thing float. Float it did. Today I feel like I built wings and a ramjet to go with it.
So. Woot.
