so tomorrow the great Christian romance novelist Lynn Austin is coming to speak to my creative writing class. Here's some of my favorite excerpts from his writings:
"Like the congressman, she hated the sticky Virginia heat that pressed against her like too many sweaty bodies in a crowded bed."
"'You’re risking a swat with this wooden spoon,' Ada warned as her two children scampered through the kitchen with their cousin, trying to steal a sweet gherkin from the dish on the sideboard."
"I loved the touch of her soft, plump hands. They smelled of cinnamon and cloves. "
hopefully I can learn a lot from her. Maybe even a whole lot. Let me know if you can think of any good questions to ask her. Like: "What is your first response if a clumsy bear were to burst into the room right now?" or "Why I am reading your painful prose?"
