Sweden

A nice country, seperated from Denmark by bridge. And yet on the other side, a different currency, different customs, different language (apparently).

Met with friends in Malmo and we had a delicious Thai meal (best Asian I´ve had in a long time) followed by a lovely walk to the park to feed the aggressive geese. Then off to a club to see ´The Knife´dj-ing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKhjaGRhIYU

The next day I went with the beautious Emma to Helsingborg and spent the day strolling around in the mild sunshine, through the park and old town, along the harbourside and beach, and into the forest to a waffle house. Because there ýou can eat waffles topped with the whimsically named ´Cloudberry jam´. Delightful! And then, beacause what else would you rather be doing on a Saturday night, we watched Eurovision!

The next day we visited the Kulture Hous, designed by Kim Utzon. They had an awesome display of areial photography of the local area and we generally wandered about. Then we spent the rest of day preparing a killer Swedesh meal; Pickled herring (Silt), mashed potatoes, reindeer, meatballs, lingan berry jam and a kind of Swedish cheese cake for dessert.

On Monday I decided I wasn´t quite finished with Copenhagen. I crossed the straight so I could spent more time exploring Christiania. I noticed many more details, the fishtank above the toilet, sword in the stone and lovely houses along overgrown paths all the way around the water. It was nice to know that there was more beyond Pusher Street with its hash dealers, mini ganstas, tourists and hippies that look as if they´ve been pickling in hash for the last 30 years.

Then I headed over to the Tivoli which was the most amazing looking theme park I´ve ever seen. Full of magical deatils and classy looking rides. What I had intended on being a quick look ended up being several hours of wandering that justified the entry fee.
