Something I wrote when Obama and the UN were considering a missile strike on Syria. I find poetry to be soothing. I don't really care if I'm good or not, it's just an effective emotional outlet for me.
It's a dangerous discussion
Drawn out scenes of destruction
Two bombs and an abduction
To save the human race
Claims of moral obligation
From the leader of a nation
Where the newest generation
Is lost in cyberspace
But the people are polluted
Complacent and no longer lucid
"In God's name" is convoluted
In this stagnant barren place
Home of "the Dream" and endless thrills
Our doctors ration too many pills
Sexual fetishes, serial kills
Deviants who just enjoy the chase
Where a different kind of savior
Available in any flavor
Lends a hand to this behavior
Via Franklin's tinted face
Oh, how we need another war
The rich sit back, watch profits soar
But we can't feed or house the poor
Just hope they vanish without a trace
And the people here just let it be
They close their eyes, don't want to see
Rather be copacetic in their mediocrity
Than anyone's saving grace
Welcome to America
