Okay, since I can't remember to right down my thoughts, this will be my gaming review page now. If I haven't played it, I wouldn't suggest picking it up. That's my new slogan, pretty cool huh?
Anyway, I've got two games in the barrel. The first is Sphinx and The Cursed Mummy. The game combines great background and excellent musical tracks. Unfortunately, it seems to pale in the area of gameplay. The game is literally nothing more than a tap the [] button game to attack. Another aspect that bothers me is the sudden lack of any type of V/O actors in the game, something that is somewhat expected even if it's just a few scenes. The other aspect of the game involves the mummy to provide some necessary humor to the sinking ship. Since he's dead he can't die again...that doesn't mean he can't be crushed, burned, electrified, and made into a ghost while he's working. Overall, a good game for story, graphics, and puzzles. But the other aspects make this game have a very low repay value.
On to the other game, God Of War. This was a welcome coming after Sphinx. The story follows: Kratos is in service to Athena after Ares has done something horrible to him. That final action has haunted Kratos for 10 years with only the promise from the gods that they shall forgive him of his past. His final act is of course to kill Ares as he lays siege to Athens. Going on an expansive quest filled with monster laiden corridors, free form fighting system, and excellently done cut scenes and FMV's really add to the game. The overall replay value truly comes from the multiple difficulty levels in where beating the game will unlock some of the treasures. After defeating God difficulty [the hardest difficulty] will unlock further tails of Kratos's family and what happened to them in more detail. Don't want to spoil anything, and I'm really holding back here. I give this game a major two thumbs up and should be at the top of the buy list or theft list depending on your preference.
Well that's all for this time. If you have any games you'd like me to review simply post a comment, or if you'd like me to elaborate further on these two games let me know. Also, keep all game request to either all systems or PS2 for now. Thanks.
