"they call me the carver. the destination of this train is boston college."

so it turns out that, as it stands, including last night and with seven parts remaining, peter_and_fran clocks in at 110,034 words, which is about 228 pages in verdana size 10. this doesn't include (a) the word count of the message board postings (b) any text that was actually part of a graphic or outside link (eg: the faux-blogs) or (c) any kind of equivilant rendering of the amount of time it takes to produce the straight-up graphics. even still, that is a fucking lot of words. there's still time for you to walk, though, to part 43, in which katie defends her title as queen of the weeping, i make use of my college education for the first time in years, k8 shows up to pinch-hit the very pg-13 rated porn and the pm is the star of a series of deleted scenes involving french cheeses.

when circusgirl was here this weekend, i stole all the music off her ipod (which made this much-linked article from the new republic about the death of the rock snob very funny), including *nsync's three real albums. (yes, the christmas album and the european debut were fake albums, thanks for asking.) this morning the title track from celebrity came up on my music shuffle, and i thought briefly with deep fondness for popslash, and how it's really kind of funny that i've gone so far away only to end up writing an AU about traveling musicians who spend a lot of fucking time on their tour bus, but then i remembered the canonical existance of the line, "if i had cheese like every day, would you still want to be with me?"

seriously, though, popslash was an evil bastard, but i loved it. i loved it so much.

pop fictions, peter & fran
