Sitting here downloading the entire Broadway workshop demo album for Disney's The Little Mermaid is making me the happiest I've been in a long time. I mnean, to this day it's one of my favorite movies, I've always thought it deserved a broadway treatment (You hear me, Menken?! More Eric!), and the casting (even if this is only the workshop cast) is amazing!
~Kerry Butler as Ariel? I mean, she sounds so much like a younger Jodi Benson!
~Gavin Creel as Eric? Never heard him before, but from what I've heard about, 'teh awesome'.
~Jeff McCarthy as Triton? Doood, the Beast is Ariel's dad! [and last but not least]
~EMILY EFFIN' SKINNER as URSULA?! So glad to get not only a sexy Sea-witch, but also for the fact that Daisy and Terry are in a project together, yaaaaay! (Sorry, only Side Show fans will get that last part.)
Anyhoo, I just can't wait to burn it on a CD. That and to hope to God it get put on the Great White Way rilly soon.
