It was really a gorgeous morning, though I was a bit sad, because if I'd been about 5 minutes later I would have been stalled at the prairie spanse that I keep wanting to take pictures of but can't, because there's no pull-off or driveway anywhere close to it. (Closest is about 3/4 of a mile, but on that freeway, that's just tempting fate.)
*beams* Just put on the 4th coat tonight. I'm now at the stage that I have to wait about 3 days between coats so the oil will dry. This was a 75/25 tung/mineral oil mix, and #5 will probably be the same with 6-10 100% tung to hopefully get the wet wood/varnish look. It's got a low polish right now, but has that beautiful glow.
I used my wipe-off rag (after about an hour of the oil soaking in I need to wipe the rest off and buff) on my newel posts and it made them look healthy and gorgeous again.
