I've only got a bit of 黒夢, & wasn't that familiar with it, so most of this show was unfamiliar songs, but with
over 13000 fans at the sold-out show, I was reasonably sure that someone else would post a complete setlist, and I was not wrong. Not only was the stadium filled to capacity with fans, but there were more flowers lined up than I've ever seen at a show before.
First off, for (both of) my non-Japanese-speaking readers, the band name, kuroyume, means "black dream". And there was a lot of b/w color play at work. When we got to the show, the goods were set up outside- everything was black. Black t-shirts, hoodies, tour bags, scarf-towels, & tons of other stuff that was too small to see over the huge crowd gathered around & waiting in line. Since we've recently resolved to start spending less money on tour goods (
Luna Sea may have had something to do w/ that *cough*), we didn't even bother getting in line.
We got inside, and the stage was covered by a huge black curtain w/ the logo in white. Once the pre-show intro music started, the band started playing, and the curtain dropped, we saw a completely white stage. Everything, including the amp cabinets, were completely white, and all the members were dressed in white, w/ Kiyoharu in several layers of white over black over white, including a
hoodie-scarf (I didn't notice it wasn't just a regular hooded sweatshirt until the jacket came off) and some fingerless gloves. It only took a few songs before he lit up & started smoking, taking puffs in between lines. Oh, how very rock-star. 9_9;
The show continued for a good 14 songs before the band, save Hitoki, left the stage, and we got some bass soloing. Unfortunately the stadium made most of the sound, esp. the bass, a bit muddy. After a while the drummer came out & joined him, then the rest of the band came out again. This time Kiyoharu was in a black hoodie-scarf & pants over a light grey shirt, w/ a silver coat on. That came off, of course, as things heated up again, and more cigarettes were lit up & smoked mid-song.
After about 25 songs without so much as a word in between (well, there were some unintelligible grunts), he finally spoke, and continued to do so between every few songs from then. I don't remember it all anymore, but it was along the lines of- my bassist is the best ever, we're recording again, new single out in May, etc.
The encore breaks led to yet more outfit changes (I won't say "costume" here, since this isn't, say, Gackt)- first another white hoodie-scarf w/ red sunglasses (at this point he walked on stage and put out his cigarette on one of the amps), & then a white T-shirt w/ a star of david, jeans, and a light blue pimp hat (ok fine, I take it back- costume changes). I also remember Hitoki in a black shirt w/ a slightly incomplete star of David as well (i.e. missing a segment), but I'm not sure when the change was.
Overall, the show was 34 songs (35 if you count the bass solo & bass+drum solo separately, as I did in my notes, but which nobody else seems to be doing), and nearly 3.5 hours. After we went outside & were heading in the very packed, slow-moving crowd past the goods area again & towards the stations, we heard some announcements about "special limited after-show goods"- looked over and all of the items had been replaced with their white counterparts! A move that surely would have bankrupted me at Luna Sea, but thankfully we avoided these as well & just rode the crowd up to the pedestrian bridge, at which point we could finally walk normally again.

Perhaps the funniest part, though, was on our way inside, once we passed all the flowers & were on our way up the long ramp that curves around the edge of the venue, I spotted a sticker of a pink shoe on the ground. Recognizing it instantly as a backstage pass, I reached down & peeled it off the floor, while a guy leaning against the wall watched, perhaps wondering what I was doing. Since there were 2 of us, though, and we were quite starving afterward, I didn't bother trying to actually use it (I'm sure they had a list anyway, and would've noticed an out-of-place foreigner), we rushed back in an attempt to hit our local ramen place, which ended up being closed (since we didn't get there until nearly 10:30, and since it's at such a small station, they close at 10), so we had Indian instead. Mmm, Indian. But man- why can't that kind of thing happen at a J show?! heh
So, that's that. Next up is the hide musical, Pink Spider, next Sat. That should be... interesting. Wonder what J's gonna be doing for it...
