Baking and Packing

Lavender chocolate cake with lavender buttercream frosting - YES PLEASE!

That's today's to-do before the family shows up. I may as well make a cake, seeing as it's my last weekend in a real kitchen in which I have unlimited baking supplies and don't have to actually pay for the ingredients.

My life as a foodie will be drastically cut short when I move to England. Unless... find rich oxford bf foodie who will indulge with me. Yes, nice plan right there. Kidding, kidding ;-)

As for packing - space bags are saving my life. I got about six dresses into a space bag + a couple scarves and belts and they all fit within one of those tiny flat rate boxes. Shipping to the UK is pricey as heck, but easier than lugging an extra suitcase (and cheaper in the long run). I also space bagged my entire winter wardrobe and it fits pretty much within a suitcase and my hiking bag. I'm having trouble with the espresso machine and printer though. I want to put them in my carry on bag, but so far, the bulk of both is proving to be a challenge. Ohhh boy....

As Laura told me: "You just need the essentials - coffee, hello kitty rug, and Twilight and voila - packing done"  - ohhhh.. if only it were that simple. I'm not even taking my iconic HK rug or my twilight (or harry potter or any other fav series) for that matter. Too limited space. I am sure I can find books in the famous Bodelian library - RIGHT ???? I mean, it's England - I am sure I'll be finding a plethora of books (not counting the million I have to read for my course) :0  Hum...but my dvd collection has to fit in somewhere...
