Oh, hey, look, somewhere I can comment on this fic!
I've been craving some new, satisfying Sam/Daniel (oh, my little rarely-loved pairing) lately and zats_clear pointed me toward "F*ck" and it was oh so very wonderful. I love how you handled the whole thing from their reaction to aliens making them do it to finding away to get through everything together to the funniest team cafeteria conversation ever. (and, okay, I have a weakness for Sam/Daniel-kid!fic).
*Jaw drops in astonishment* Wait. You liked one of my fics? There's a turnaround I wasn't expecting. Not yet, anyway. *Resists urge to squee* *Fails*
Ahem. Thank you for the lovely comments. I'm glad it satisfied your S/D craving. I've never done either kidfic or an AMTDI before, but when I saw the challenge I couldn't resist trying them out. I figured Sam and Daniel would be able to get over the sex part with a minimum of awkwardness, but the pregnancy would throw a big wrench into their relationship, at least until they calmed down and worked through it.
I'm happy you liked the commissary scene. I've become rather fond of Teal'c pwnage lately, and needed to include some. Then Jack saw an opening to join in and leapt at it. Silly characters getting away from me...
Aw, don't be so surprised! You write awesome fic like that and of course people are gonna like it (and I'm so not alone either, cause Zats LOVES it and I recced it last week and have had at least two people over AIM thank me for reccing it cause it was awesome).
And, yeah, I think what really worked is that they handled it like them, like adults. They're close enough that in a lot of ways, sex isn't going to seriously change their relationship so I'm glad you acknowledged that adult maturity and that closeness and let them get over the sex fast but, yes, the baby WOULD be a big thing, both because of how being pregnant would change Sam's life and because of Daniel's issues with Shifu and such. But I love that you let Sam rage and let them find a way to work through it in a way that felt real - you didn't go over angsty or over schmoopy.
And, yes, the commissary scene and Teal'c was probably my favorite part. Just SO THEM. And I loved Sam's pondering how to get a hat trick.

I've never been good at judging awesomeness or lack thereof when it comes to my own fics. I can recognize it in other people's, but I have a hard time telling if what I've written is any good outside my own head.

That's pretty much how I see it, too. Sweet.

Yeah, I debated giving Daniel more angst during the labour scene in deference to his experience with Sha're, but I figured A) he wouldn't be letting his pain show while Sam needed his support so much, and B) she wouldn't have noticed even if he had.
But I love that you let Sam rage and let them find a way to work through it in a way that felt real - you didn't go over angsty or over schmoopy. And nothing can make you want to rage quite as much as pregnancy. And my experience was consensual and non-career threatening. Poor Sam
