Mission(s) accomplished on 4 1/2 hrs sleep:
- Drive dad in 1988 Isuzu Trooper 30 minutes to Pickering, happily flapping hand out window to compensate for broken left rear indicator light when merging on highway and changing lanes.
- Indicator light, license plate light fixed, rear wiper replaced, front wipers and 1989 Isuzu I-mark hood stand retaining clippy thing on order.
This guy calls his Trooper "The Lunchbox". Stick throw is like a foot between gear positions, gas creaky and loud, brakes stiff, clutch generally forgiving, steering loose, driving position equivalent to a Hummer next to us. Commands worry, not respect, in other drivers.
- Fold Honda into flatbed configuration (well, clear out and fold rear seats down)
- Find accessories and start 2 mutually incompatible computers, check for data left behind, determine that neither boot in the first place, one won't even turn on.
- Load computers (1 tower, one 90's era Mac all-in-one, thanks Camilla it served well), 1 monitor, 4 printers, 1 DVD/VCR combo player, 1 clock radio, 2 portable phones incl. bases, cables, software, used batteries, shovel, plastic bags into car.
- Get rid of said electronics and batteries at community recycling day.
- Discover there is no more compost to be had.
- Race back to parents.
- Take dad to bank. Banking.
- Take dad to Starbucks. Coffee/cake.
- Take dad to Shoppers Drug Mart. Day "ruined" by credit card not being accepted in fashion that enables dad to test new PIN number method.
- Take dad back home. Congratulate dad on amount of physical activity achieved. Chat with mom. Day semi-unruined.
- Nap.
- Phone call with potential date.
- Work on order of swing music, can't dance on own. Fail.
