Laura bought an iPod last week. She's enjoying it tremendously; last weekend she spent hours lying awake in bed playing with the thing. (Bear in mind Laura usually switches off like a light at 9:30 or 10.)
Now Blizzard has announced
their Armory iPhone app will soon interface with the World of Warcraft auction house.
Laura loves the auction house. To her, auctions aren't merely a system for disposing of excess raid loot; they're a glorious game of economic chess, wherein she is Garry Kasparov and J.P. Morgan combined. She regales me almost daily with tales of the ph4t l3wt she accrues, and the prices it subsequently brings in the AH. I'm not saying I don't care, mind you- I may not understand why six Darkfell Fangdark Fellfangs were worth eight hundred gold, but obviously it pleases Laura, and that's enough for me.
I suspect a portable auction app will be the savory bait WoW needs to hook Laura for life. I only worry she may find interaction with non-Azerothian humanoids increasingly superfluous.
