[ Poland is seated on the counter, wedged between a cheese plate and some peanuts. ]

There better be girls at this party.

[ That's some comment coming from a boy currently eating a gigantic sausage. ]

[Tim makes sure to look properly annoyed when he glances over at his roommate -- he's pretty sure Feliks would get concerned if Tim didn't seem at least mildly irritated with him at all times -- but mostly he's just glad that Feliks was okay with hosting a party in the first place.]

There are going to be girls. Relax. Have a little faith.

I'm just sayin'! [ Poland begins counting on his fingers ] Your cute ex-girlfriend, your cute sister.. that's still only two girls to us two guys! Not enough!!

[ One of these "two guys" happens to be partial to swearing women's clothing- but not today! Poland is wearing something almost akin to normal (although the hoodie is pink. Tim, if living with the other boy for a year has been an indication of anything, casual male fashion is a Poland sign of nerves. ]

I'm sure we'll have more guests than just Cass and Steph. Guests of both genders, even.

[While Tim doesn't miss the tell-tale of nervousness, he's long since given up any attempt to understand Feliks. But he'd like him to be able to stay calm for the party, rather than... histrionic.]

I put up flyers all over campus. And I think Souji's friends are coming, and shockingly, some of them are girls. Seriously, don't worry about it.

[ Nathan nudges the door open with a shoulder. His arms are piled high with bottles courtesy of Lau - is it vodka? Is it ranch dressing? Is it rat poison? Only time will tell! And that's why Lau is the best person on the island. He takes one look around at the weird Polish shit and board games and sneers at the hosts. ]

You'll thank me for these later.

[ He sets them down on the closest table unceremoniously and pats his jacket pocket, full of slightly more illegal and infinitely more fun contraband. ]

If you don't mind, I think I'll save this until the ladies show up.

Door fee! Like, give me a sip!

[ Congratulations Poland, you've earned yourself Nathan's first facepalm of the night. THESE ARE NOT THE LADIES HE WAS LOOKING FOR ]

Fair enough.

[ He picks an unmarked bottle back up and stares at it for a second before shoving it in Poland's direction. ]

Honestly, man, I hope that one's petrol.

[ Poland laughs, high and nervous, before clinking it against another. ]

Omigawd, you're so funny! Eat dirt and die, random.

[To say that Haruhi was nervous arriving to the party would have not necessarily been true, but it wasn't much of a lie. But then, Tamaki said that he'd be coming, and Ryoji too. She had to keep telling herself that it wasn't a party, but more of a work function. Promotion, or.. something like that.

Though there was nothing she was wearing that was immediately indicative of her gender, she was rather surprised to see that no other girls up to that point had arrived yet, but also disappointed. Aside from her host club friends, she didn't really know anyone, and this being her first real party, she had no idea what she was supposed to do. Being an unknown, she likely wasn't about to be harassed. Maybe bumped into by one of those guys who were drinking, but directly harassed? Nah. Hopefully soon someone she knew would show up and she'd feel less awkward and out of place.]

Welcome to the party!

Tim calls across the room, currently caught between Poland and Nathan in some sort of apparently awkward conversation. Extricating himself, and trying not to feel to disapproving of a high school kid (he's pretty sure) at a party like this, he smiles and offers a hand.]

Tim Drake. You look a little lost.

[Haruhi looked up when she was addressed and smiled back her famous host smile, taking his hand and shaking it pleasantly.]

Yeah, just a little. I've never been to something like this before. I'm... not really sure what I should be doing with myself. Fujioka Haruhi. It's nice to meet you.

Well, there are movie marathons in the bedrooms, those are probably the ... quietest places.

[By quietest he means least drunk, and he hopes Haruhi understands that. Also, wow. That's quite a smile. It reminds him a little bit of... well, several people, actually. Kon at his Kansas-farmboy best, for one. After a moment, he becomes aware of the fact that he's not quite sure if Haruhi is a boy or a girl.]

[Daria can't remember the last time she showed up a social gathering she wasn't being bribed in some way to attend. But there were posters for this thing on campus and she figured there might be enough of a trainwreck factor to make putting in an appearance at least a little bit worthwhile. So she finds herself knocking on the door, despite her better judgment.]

[Tim answers the door, mostly feeling relieved that he has a guest that knocks rather than just barging in. Wearing a sport coat and a tux-print T-shirt, he definitely looks overdressed for the party going on behind him -- but not as overdressed as the dismayed-looking blonde guy in the double-breasted suit wandering past behind him.]

Hey, come on in. Glad you could make it.

[Daria, on the other hand, is remarkably underdressed in her same old everyday outfit. Oh well. It's not like she's actually looking to make a good impression here, right? She's a little confused at the greeting, though. Do they already know each other?]

Hey. Thanks for having me. [Her unenthusiastic tone probably says otherwise.]

[ Poland appears at Tim's elbow, gazing over the newcomer disapprovingly. ]

Tim stop letting brzydota in here!!

[ in the kitchen, a tiny asian girl is consuming a bewildering amount of pierogi. Cassandra Cain does not arrive at parties, she is simply there. ]

Yes!! Tim sister, cute girl! [ Poland is right behind Cass, reaching around the girl to start stacking a plate with pirogi and onions for her. ]

You need to eat like, at least 20 of these or something. You're too skinny!! I'll like, be SUPER offended if you don't.

[ In these situations, Poland is like your overbearing mom. You know, if she wasn't a master assassin and you you weren't kidnapped from her to live a miserable and pain fueled childhood and okay so maybe not like your mother at all. Just don't argue. ]

Okay.

[ taking them politely, like a good ninja house guest. alfred would be proud. ]

[Tim isn't surprised that he didn't see her appear, but admittedly, he is a little surprised to see her there. Glad, though, and not just because Feliks is less likely to drive him crazy now asking when she was going to arrive. He tips her a wave from across the room, confident that she can read his body language well enough that he doesn't need to repeat everything he just 'said.' Still, he ducks past the beer pong table to get close enough to say hello, since he can't read her response nearly as clearly.]
