Quote for the Weekend

Jun 20, 2008 17:40

"There are in nature neither rewards nor punishments - there are consequences."
  - Robert G. Ingersoll

This is paralleled in the Christian faith, as I think is shown best by the verse 1 Corinthians 10:23 (a favorite of mine), which says, "All things are lawful, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful, but not all things edify." (NAS) The Bible in Basic English also has a good translation, "We are free to do all things, but there are things which it is not wise to do. We are free to do all things, but not all things are for the common good."
