So here I am in Italy.. haven't updated in forever.. kinda hard when you are stupid and don't bring your laptop.. ah well. Only a few more weeks and I go back to the States! I love the lifestyle here, the food, the culture.. but I miss being home. And by home I mean Riverside. :P It's where I've spent most of my time for the past two years, so yeah, it feels like home now.. more so than Florida, or even Fremont anymore.. Fremont and high school seem like ages ago. And it has indeed been a while, but just so many things have happened in two years, and even the past month or so.. it really does make you appreciate the little things you take for granted.. like preservatives. :P really though, being here just puts you in a whole different mind set. I'm so glad I came.. it's been a wonderful experience getting out of the States and all, but I do miss things, more so people. One in particular. :)
Anyways, I just watched "Never Been Kissed" in Italian.. which was interesting since I've never seen the movie and I don't know enough Italian to actually understand it. I picked up some words here and there, but for the most part I just figured out the plot. I have definitely learned a lot since I've been here.. we learned like 4 tenses in the past week or so. Crazy.
I went horseback riding yesterday, which I think has been one of the best moments of this entire trip. We went on a trail ride through a forest and saw castles and huge sunflower fields.. it was amazing. Plus the guide had asked who had experience.. and as I was the only one, she let me trot with her through the forest! It was so amazing! You really have to pay attention though because the foliage comes in so close I had to duck my head to keep from hitting branches and stuff.. then we came to a nice open area and she actually let me gallop!! OMG that was SO fun! I mean it seriously felt like flying! Just so fast and the rhythm.. it was just one of the most thrilling moments of my life. Sure I was a little scared, but I just got caught up in the rush.. knowing that your horse is running for the sheer joy of it, and is allowing you to share it with them.. I just can't rightly put it to words. I'd only galloped before for maybe a few seconds at a time, like up a little hill or something.. but this was for at least a minute or so.. seemed like time just stopped..
Ok I'm going to stop here, because it's a bit late here and I still have class tomorrow.. that's the only bit of a drag here.. having to get up early every day.. but class is fun and interesting, so yeah.
Ciao!
